Really hoping to see the Pens go straight at the Sharks & just attack, attack, attack from the moment the puck drops on Saturday. That's their recipe for success. Attack always.
But they didn't try to "feel out the Sharks" in game 1 & they didn't try to really "weather the storm that the sharks will bring" in game 2. They attacked from the moment the puck dropped. I don't see any reason that they'd change it now. |

I would love to see more line changes later on in the game. I saw like 20 sec of Malkin with Kessel and not even 10 sec of Crosby with Malkin at evs.
At some point, I want to see the pens load up |

He is a Flyers fan. How many people really take him seriously? Those who do, have serious problems.

He's a flyers fan. The closest he gets to compliments about the Pens are backhanded compliments. |

I recall the Pens hitting 3 posts as well, so I hope that's not a SJ excuse going around similar to the Couture whining.
Gotta think that early on in both games, if not for Jones standing tall in net and some glaring missed opportunities by the Pens to cash in on their many scoring opportunities, these games coulda gotten out of hand score wise. The final score and outcomes aren't indicative of how well the Pens have played for the majority and how frustrating it's been for the Sharks and that's very obvious from their on ice behavior and post-game reactions/comments.
Two things that are of concern to me are: the Pens PP is holding them back from blowing games open and they get into a comfort level because of their possession dominance that late in games allows the Sharks to gain some momentum and get good chances.
I don't care how superior a team is playing statistically or by the eye test, holding a 1 or 2 goal lead for a long time against any team good enough to get to the Cup Finals will eventually erode. The Pens need to cash in on PP opportunities because in one of these next games, that could easily be the difference, and they need to play with a lead, like they do when the score is tied. They did more of that in this last game but they didn't start the 3rd with the urgency needed to control the tempo or the possession, which is how this team wins games.
That said; It's starting to get annoying hearing comments of "The Sharks let the Pens control the tempo" like there is not this other dominating team on the ice that will control the tempo whether the Sharks like or not and they pretty much can't do anything about it.
This series is the Pens to lose. They have to keep punching until the 12th round bells rings.

Couture is a whiny female dog. Overtime his team loses, its excuses. Yep, can't tell me Pavelski and crew don't have their little things they take advantage of on face-offs. Cheat? LOL. No, he is only one of the best face-off guys in the league.
Power play is garbage. I almost want to say decline. There were four penalties not called that people complained about. My response - big deal - we weren't going to score anyway.
Our inability to put teams away as well as the inept power play are the two concerns. That game shouldn't have been 1-0 with 4:30 left in the third. |

The one time I read an Ek post I felt my IQ slip 25 points. Luckily I was still smart enough to click out of it before it ate my brain and I put on an orange shirt. |

The posts excuse is a really stupid one. Two of their pipes, were the outside of the pipe, as in, no one gives a damn pipe hit. So... they had 2 legit pipe chances... and guess what, we had three.
Looks like another stat we beat them in. |

We need to keep Schultz off the 1st pp and have Hornqvist or even Kunitz instead. Although I have liked the determination and willingness to shoot compared to series past |

Wait.. you DONT want Schultz on the top PP unit? The guy who is more than willing to throw the puck to the net often? |

It's one thing to not score on the PP, but the Pens actually look like they're the ones down a man sometimes compared to their 5 on 5 play and the Sharks get momentum from the kill and the Pens go into a lull. I mean, that 1st PP looked like a completely different Pens team (in a bad way) than the one that played up until that point. It's like Kryptonite to them.

I feel like putting two or three of Schultz, Letang and Malkin duplicates the skill at the point. We need more net front presence.
I admire Schultz's propensity to shoot tho |

Yeah, I was just responding to the mention of SJ's hitting posts but nothing mentioned about the Pens iron infatuation. |
