On the Ulfie front, I liked him & thought he had the potential w some more grooming to be a Head Coach here after AV tenure is done. Now it looks as though Carolina has that exact model in line to have him learn a bit more in their system & eventually graduate to Head Coach there when ready.
I like the Beukeboom idea of getting promoted as I said yesterday. He has paid his dues in Hartford & knows the teams young D men, especially McIlrath who needs a mentor to help him up w the big club. AV clearly doesn't exactly seem to believe in DM so having Beuke can help. Please no Rick Bowness, that man has been on the merry go round in this league so long he's a permanent fixture on the carousel. |

Hey ulfie ... paid dues ,deserves his day in the sun....also
ole voice can fall on deaf ears..............
hearing the rumblings of Step to Minn. plan ..may have a Mac in it to really
make a splash ... IMO the NYR want K Y they also have seen Mac slip since his
captaincy rose.....his best was 14' till shoulder in Van . him & Gman never the same ..... If G man healthy ..Him& K Y make a tandem
NYR gets out from under Steps heavy deal & mac 's under performing one?
what they get back is the interesting part .... do we want Dumba & Coyle & sum
cap relief as an example? or more top pick and less back in talent ? I DK
at least NYR is ready to blow up the core somewhat ? what could make em
wanna do it? Stamkos siting ......I Know needs alot more moves but at least it sounds like a start to the implosion of the core & the quick rebuild w/Stamkos as the spear hd....
Kreider better not be a stayin... that dog dont hunt .........he is just pickin up scraps not makin a nitch or name in the game except what he wont do to win
not willing to go to next level of physicality and dominance ... happy jsut floatin up & down wing taking weeks off at a time till P O's & then he only gets his fingers tips into the fray ,barely more but tangible difference..worthless pro just makin money not worried about winning.....teams never get over the hump w/guys like that ..ask Chicago about Bickel??? at least produced to help the win, dog ever since..............L G R |

if just on character play Ulfie ? not so macho... tough ? but dirty
Beuk ..what can i say ... our rock of gilbraltor ..Gave Leetch such a back bone
to work with ..brought out best in leetch too.
Sucker punch by theta puke in L A ended his career a bit preemie...
what a warrior type to carve out sum character maybe missing on back line ...
great move ..part of the overhaul....make it happen L G R |

Even other then that, we are trading our two best players in Stepan and McDonagh for just Coyle and Dumba??? Yea that would go over well lol |

I agree with Brian wanting no part of Bowness. Would love to see Beuk brought up only if he actually gets to coach the D. How much of the failure last year is on AV's stubbornness vs Ulfie's inability? My suspicions lie in AV's demands on the coaches to play to his whims. No wonder Ulf jumped ship even though that job is an upgrade. Not saying AV should go, maybe Gorton puts a little pressure on him to try something else. |

You know what I forgot until looking up Beuke fights yesterday. We all remember that Johnson suckerpunch ending Jeff's career & in essence it did but he came back just 6 weeks later & 1st game back got in a fight! Tells you what they knew about Post Concussion Syndrome in 1998. He played a handful of games just after New Yrs 1999 but soon went down again cause of...you guessed it, migraines & dizziness. Retired officially after the 99 season. |

Agree with the C+ grade. Not entirely on his fault. He did battle through an injury or two during the season. His play declined when AV (or Ulfie) began shuffling the defense.
I would like the see Beukeboom brought up. He worked with McIlrath and Skjei in Hartford.
Stepan to Minny? For who? Can we add another (Krieder or Nash) and get Parise in return? I can't see shipping a home-grown guy that is entering his prime at a decent contract as a #1(a) center on the team. |

I thought he was out for good after that punch. If that happened today Beuk would have never come back. |

IMO if the Rangers are gonna take on Parise cap hit why not just go all in on Stamkos? That would make more sense to me |

My last thing on Kreider for now...everyone talks about how he is up and down, sure I agree. He gets hot and cold. But who on the team hasn't played like that over the last year and a half? Fast? Stepan maybe? Zucc? Every damn player on the team is guilty of it. Why the team is struggling. But yea its the dude's fault who is only making 2.4 million against the cap right now. Take him away and there goes the team speed. |

Parise? ugghhh, besides having a NMC he arguably has the nastiest contract in the NHL. Signed until 2025, 7.5 mil a year, and he is 32 years old next month.
NO THANK YOU |

I did too, but the incident was November 98 & he was in a few fights early in the 99 season. Look it up, I had to too cause I was sure he never played after that night in LA but not so.
When I said 99 I meant that same season, 98-99, NOT 99-2000. |

Yea if you are serious about trading assets for a 32 year old Parise with that cap hit, why not just go all in on Stamkos then. Younger, better and save the assets. |
