In one way I like the fact that Dubi and JJ are on the US team, and I am very sad Jenner is not on the NA team.
It seems to me that either the US leadership or Torts is seeing this as only an exhibition event, so why not get a guy on the team who needs work and got possibly snubbed for the last Olympics (Johnson), and a player who can use a boost because he is likely going to have a hard year as the #1 Center on the CBJ (Dubi).
Jenner could use the extra work to get ready for the season, but there are always going to be worthy players left off teams like this. Sadly it was his turn. If he keeps playing well, he will be on Olympic teams in the future so he will get the place he deserves.
To read all the angry posts about the makeup of an exhibition tournament is funny. |

Jenner is under 23 so that was Chiarelli call - Alexzanki
Also Jenner is Canadian so even if he wasn't 23, Torts wouldn't have been his coach. |

I really can't say I agree with your assessment of Jack Johnson. If anything, he's been our most reliable defenseman since his acquisition. What has killed his numbers is the fact that he's the one guy who is constantly shifted play with whatever defenseman we need him to play with. I thought Ryan Murray took some huge (donald trump "HUGE") steps forward this season with his play and Seth Jones just looks like a stud when he plays on the ice, but Jack Johnson is the glue of that back end on this team. I'm a believer that numbers for defenseman are a terrible judge of their play. My reasoning is this:
If you're using CF% for a defenseman, that player is LARGELY at the mercy of his forwards on the ice with him (same can be said about defensively, especially in regards to the center on the ice). Ironically, if you look at CF%, Jack Johnson led CBJ defenseman in 14-15 when he had a stable pairing with Savard. This year, he was paired with everybody and the lack of consistency showed, imho.
If you're using +/- then lol. This season Duby and Johnson were our worst +/- players at -16 and Kevin Connauton was a +10. +/- is a terrible stat in just about every way. Anybody who wants to tell me Connauton is better in any way than either of those two guys needs to go back to watching Nascar.
I view Jack Johnson as a very solid 2nd pairing defenseman in this league at this point in his career. He's been asked to be more than that the past few years in Columbus and I think he's performed admirably under the circumstances. On top of that, he appears to be fantastic in the locker room and he has embraced being in Columbus since Day 1 (unlike some other people who shall not be named) and for that he will always have my respect. |

Hey, just curious, would you guys be interested in a trade with Edmonton centered around Nugent-Hopkins and Savard? |

I'm open to it, make your case. Can RNH actually be a #1 Center, and what is the cap hit? |

Morning Gents,
What are the chances that Rychel gets traded? What is he worth?
Any chance you trade the 3rd for the 6th plus +?
A trade that was proposed the other day on our thread was something like:
To Calgary
3rd
Hartnell (helping BJ's eating some salary)
To Columbus
6th
Backlund (Good cheap 2C)
2nd
B Prospect
