Lol he actually said that about Boudreau? Burke is a nutcase for sure. Probably thinks the NHL is still stuck in 70s and 80s

Todd any chance you can slide a Poll into one of your articles to see who Flames fans are most interested in acquiring from a goalie stand point? Like you mentioned it appears inevitable that they will be trading to get one!

I wondered if Mason would make sense for Calgary.

I am not against the Flyers moving him.

Fleury should be available. Wouldn't Calgary want another Fleury?

I would assume he means Bollig will dress for more games, not necessarily play more minutes than is the norm.

Wow. Some of the things Burke said really concern me. Bollig? Really? His coaching recruitment statements are a little contradicting and his evaluation of Andersson, as Todd said, is flawed. Does looking alike make them the same player? Probably not.
I will completely agree though, Signing Reimer and retaining assets is the best course of action for a this team. We placed 5th last in the league and are still rebuilding. Suppose in 2 years when Gillies is ready to start and the team is ready to seriously compete for the cup, these 2nd rounders could have been useful pieces to put us over the top, either by adding depth to our lineup or trading them for other small holes on our roster.

Hopefully BT pulled Burke aside after that interview and asked him what the (frank) he was talking about He was doing an okay job staying out of the spotlight, he should go back to trying to do that.

Bollig should not be playing more and any coach that plays him more would not be an upgrade over Hartley.

And why the (frank) would he give out the fact that we are looking to trade our 2nds for a goalie? Keep your cards a little tighter to your chest for (frank) sakes Burkie!!

Maybe Burke's comment re: Bollig meant:
A). He's getting demoted to the AHL where he can play full time 4th line minutes, or
B) He'll be traded to a team that obviously wants to play him. At this point I'm guessing the Canucks.

Calgary has a nice team and is just a goalie away from making the playoffs next year. I think they know half assing it by bringing in someone like Reimer would only set the team back further.

They would be very smart to try to trade for Fleury. Adding him alone would get them into a playoff spot.

So,

I am guessing Burke is the kind of guy who like's Scotch. I am guessing Burke is the kind of guy to talk a lot of poop when he drink's Scotch. I am guessing Burke hates doing PR crap for fan's. I am guessing to cope with said hatred Burke turned to his old friend Scotch. If you re-read all of the poop he talked understanding that he drank scotch beforehand it all makes sense.

I could be wrong. He could be a Jameson guy.

I've been to some of his talks in the past, he seems to enjoy that side of things and has always made sure his players have a strong presence in community/volunteer aspects of the business.

Seasons ticket holders meeting is a weird concept in my opinion, sure those people pay good money and support the team, but putting on a dog and pony show just seems silly to me. My interpretation of anything in terms of strategy that comes out of a public discussion is that the opposite is likely true.

I think considering it's a buyers market for goaltenders that it's a smart strategy to advertise you are looking, and how much you're willing to spend. I think this is a great way generate interest and spark trade talks. If you are a seller, no way would you say "we are willing to take this pick for this player", that would be disastrous!

I don't know why the Bollig comments are surprising. He pretty much stated as much when Bob was fired.

That was kind of my point. You have to keep your clientele happy, but thinking that you are going to give them "insider" info is laughable.

1) Touché
2) Decent. Seen about a dozen so far including two Grizz. No Blackies big enough for the freezer though.
3) Have no (frank)ing clue. Thought one of you guys did it.
