Pysyk is a first rounder just coming into his own after having been sheltered in the AHL while the Sabres tear down spread misery across the NHLers.
It'll cost you a first to get him |

A players value to a team will be dictated by where the team slots them next year, not where they slotted them last year. Jaskin, for instance, may not have been used much, but is probably expected to take the place of Brouwer next year. Wouldn't be as cheap to acquire as I'm guessing you think. Young, cheap, top 9 winger you have spent a lot of time developing.... The things Blues would want in return are exactly the things I would imagine Arizona wanting to hold on to.
PRV I get the vibe isn't in the Blues long term plans, which would make him cheaper. But with him being young, cheap, and good injury depth, also no reason to give him up for nothing. I imagine him being used as a chip to move up spots as the draft or something. |

thats a joke right? just becasue he "WAS" a 1st rounder doesnt mean thats what he"ll get in a deal. the Yotes 2nd rounder is probably the very best offer you'd get for him (and thats if the Yotes actually offer that for him) |

I like MPS....he's athletically gifted...but he lacks something intangeable that keeps him from being productive. |

great blog. Earthbound is great. As a 12 year old I discovered it around the same time as The Doors so that was a pretty trippy little combo. |

If you live in Canada you should wash it in the winter because the salt they use to de-snow the roads can really (frank) up your car |

Why not just keep Matthews and replace him with "Future Considerations"? |

Why in the world Buffalo trade Pysyk for a draft pick? They have around 20 of them in the next 2 drafts already. Pysyk is undervalued in Buffalo and would only be moved for a player transaction. Buffalo isn't trading for draft picks unless they're trading quantity for quality. |

Hamhuis would be an excellent target for AZ.
He'd be an excellent target for VAN as well, but Benning happened, unfortunately... |

You really only have to worry about this in the east. Never buy a second hand car from Eastern Canada. |

Undervalued in Buffalo? Or over valued by Buffalo fans? - Jeropotato
I think you will find most Sabre fans felt he under-preformed this year. He spent a lot of time in the AHL before this last year and the times he was up with the Sabres he looked really good. But his first full year with the Sabres was definitely a challenging year for him. Jake McCabe has already surpassed him on the depth chart. Defensemen take a long time to develop hopefully Pysyk can start to turn it around. The only reason fans want him to stay in Buffalo is because we don't have anybody to replace him yet. |

The Blues have OTT, Brouwer. and Brodziak all playing now that are going to be ufa's. I'm guessing they know exactly what they have in Jaskin & Paajarvi and you won't be getting them cheap as they will help with the Blues cap.
Pysyk is cheap and signed through next year. I'm sure he can be had but trades are usually close to equal value.
Nishuskin- They already had this player!---His name was Mikkel Boedker
Hamhuis makes a lot of sense. However he won't be cheap. |

Off topic and probably irritating, but can you comment on what you think the most fair Mathews trade would be. I've heard responses on why most proposals are ridiculous, but what would be fair? I think it centers around strome to fill their need for center. Obvious (but not enormous) gap between Mathews and strome, so to cover the gap you offer a highly rated prospect like Christian Fischer and the 20th overall pick. I could see both teams considering this. Maybe it's not enough and a roster player like rieder has to be thrown in. If you disagree with this proposal, what is your realistic counter? |

A quick look at their respective stats shows that Pysyk is way better than McCabe. |
