Thanks Bill. I was a pro-White fan until he started taking some bad penalties, and making some poor decisions. He is a versatile guy, but I don't think that he's worth the extra money, and guys like him are available a dime a dozen. I also think that CMcD would be a good replacement. CMcD brings leadership, size (which we really need), and a good head on his shoulders (fewer dumb penalties). If CMcD is brought up, there is no place for White on the roster, unless he wants to play in LHV, and be brought up when injuries permit.
That's just my choice.
As a side note, we could also use a UFA winger that has size, grit, and a little speed for the the third line; paired with Scotty L, and Cuz of course.

Any more than 3 years, 1.25 million, let him walk. You can't be overpaying 4th line players.

Saw the game on TV, but went to the parade in person, it was amazing!

I agree in a way. But I would rather have McDonald over Vandevelde. The money and term have to work for the Flyers. As much as people like WHite you can't over spend on a 4th line checker. I like Matt Martin but I kind of feel that is what is going to happen to him this offseason.

One player I have liked watching is Upshall. He seems to turned into a new 3/4th line type. Still has some speed. Gets in on the forecheck but still can be a offensive threat.

I wouldn't mind a guy like Dale Weise who can score some goals and also kill penalties and play a grinding game.

Upshall may be a good energy signing. He was making 700k this past season. I doubt he would expect a substantial raise.

That was what I was thinking, too. Substantial raise but still manageable on the cap and the term is fair given that players in his role pretty much have to re-prove themselves year after year.

About the extent I go.

Any more and I go with someone in LHV or a cheap FA type. There will be guys who will take 800k on a 1 year deal kind of like how Upshall did for St. Louis

Wait a minute guys, he had just about as many goals this year as Voracek. Give him 8 years 8.5 AAV

correct. I like 2 years say 1.4 I could live with. Still don't like the raffl contract.

what does bellemare have left on his deal? any idea?

I like the Rafll deal. For a guy who scored 20 goals, he is only signed for 2.35 a year. Especially since he can play any forward spot and basically play on any line. Even if they had a huge influx of talent he could still be a good 4th line center and kill penalties.

Those suggested numbers for White are insanely high. He's not any more valuable to the team than Bellemare.

If say white asked for something big here are guys that would maybe interest me in FA for a 3/4 line role.

Johnathan Marchessault(600K)
Dale Weise- prev cap hit(1.025)
Scottie Upshall(700k)
Colton Sceviour(700K)
Ryan Carter(625K)
Brad Boyes(700K)

He plays PP and PK...whether he should or not is debatable but I think hes more valuable than Belly

Bellemare got almost three times as much as PK time as White, and Belleamre's actually good at it.

Laughton and Raffl could easily take over White's 70 PK minutes if he goes elsewhere.

I don't know if I would go that far. If I was to have to pick one and lose the other I would take Bellemare over White.

Also I think once you see more talent on the roster White will be off the PP.

i even think that's too much. we know what he brings, and in a perfect world we could keep him. but giving him anymore than 1 million is not a good move, especially since he wont do a 1 year deal again. Leier i think can come up and do exactly what he did, albeit with a little more defense, scoring, and speed. or bring up goulbourne and groom him as a 4th liner energy guy, either option is cheaper, and both wont give you a ton less than what white gives, IMO
