Here watching Hockey Central at Noon again on my lunch break.... The panel strongly feel Tampa has been the better team the first two games ... I just don't see it that way. I can admit when the Pens are the lesser team on any given night, it happened a few games in the Caps series, but to my eyes the Pens have been the better team in this series so far. Without a question in game 2. |

MattStrat: I live in Canada (the same town that Crosby grew up in), and no I'm not a bandwagon Crosby fan, I got into hockey as a kid right when Mario started tearing up the league.
I also have found for the entire playoffs, the Canadian commentators, sports talk guys, and network panels have all been anti-Pittsburgh, which makes no sense since every matchup has been 2 American teams. So far everygame has seemed very pro Rangers, pro Caps, pro Lightning. I don't know why.
For example, Crosby can create a great scoring chance and the guy just goes: "And Crosby, passes out front to Hornqvist, and he shoots just wide", then 5 mins later Ovechkin skates out of his own zone with the puck, and even though there are 3 defenders right in his face, the guy goes: "OHHHH BABY, AND HERE COMES OVIE FLYING UP THE ICE!!!!" |

@bochangs: haha we had a pretty lengthy conversation about the media's fixation on anti-Crosby story lines last blog. We all agree |

Quotes not working, for MattStrat: Man I don't get what they see. I thought Tampa was better in game 1. Pens better in game 2. I thought Pens outplayed TBL more in game 2 than TBL outplayed Pens in game 1. But whatever I guess. LGP |

Ridiculous that Murray is still starting. MAF is the go to goalie and MUCH better than Murray. I think it's throwing off Sid and Geno's game with MAF not in net.

haha nice Bob Cole reference there.
Yeah, it's brutal man but hopefully the Pens keep defying them and pissing them off.

I don't know how the Hockey Central people believe TB was the better team in game two. That is laughable. Absent five to seven minutes, Pittsburgh controlled that game.
As far as RFA, I would see if you could extort a late third or a fourth round pick in a trade of Bennett. |

I cant totally agree with that. Yeah, they scored more goals but the Pens controlled a lot of the play. The thing about the Pens that game, to me, was they were a little sloppy. Passes weren't tape to tape and the puck was missing them or getting away from them a bit. Id say that game was 50/50ish but game 2 was almost all Pens. |

We should get an IV of liquified hot dogs and slaw for the bench to keep him hydrated. |

That is why I used the word extort. He isn't worth anything to Pittsburgh at all. Then again, I've seen terrible players collect a third round pick before. SJ got two seconds from Pittsburgh for a slow, healthy scratched Dman that they had no intent to resign. |

What was there to be pro-rangers about?
You guys embarrassed them other than the 2nd game. |

Consider the source. Hockey Central is central to hockey in name only. Buffoons and monkeys can flap their pie hole, but it does not mean they are knowledgeable. I would also suggest the general public in hockey does not like the Pens for whatever reason. |

You are certainly not wrong to suggest this. Its perplexing to me. Its funny though, Ive gone to Montreal 4 times to see the Pens play and they love the Pens and Crosby there. I think the love of the Pens there comes from Mario. There's always a ton of Pens fans at the Bell Centre and a lot of them are Montreal natives. That game three seasons ago when the Pens won 7-6 in OT at the Bell, I was there and sitting around me were 100% French people cheering for the Pens. We bonded even though we didnt really understand each other when talking. That was a great night. |
