Tanev only has one assist on 34 Team Canada goals and is a plus 5 despite the team being +30, is that worthy of talking his trade value again??

I actually noticed quite a bit in the first round and early World Championship games that a large number of teams/coaches use the drop pass to enter the zone on the powerplay. I know there are quite a few here that want to abolish it, but its pretty effective with the right personnel

Tanev plus this years 4OA to the 'peg for 2nd overall...

edit:
throw in a 5th if they want a bit more.

Noticed it with some other NHL clubs too.

I guess the trick is not to be too obvious about it and not do it on every single pp.

Trying to Quote Kaptan

So Wpg's D depth chart on right side? and there is no way Tanev, who I do like is worth moving up 3 spots.

Byfuglien
Trouba
Myers
Tanev

If we want Laine it would have to be Horvat + 5OA at a minimum.

Yan-Pavel Laplante looks like a worse, smaller Alexander Mallet...... my guess he is in the ECHL to start the season and will be a call up in Utica.

sounds likely

weren't posters talking the other day about the rarity of jr. players making the jump straight to the nhl?

just hope he turns out better than Dane Fox.

Utica/Kalamazoo depth.

For sure, and I think signing a player after his overage season is better than drafting them. I am hoping they are looking at Alex Forsberg from the Royals as well. IMO he looks like a better prospect than Laplante.

I don't think the Leafs pass on the potential Elite center man. If for some reason they trade the pick maybe someone else take Laine first.

WD just left the cat out of the bag on the radio.

He was asked what the single biggest improvement that the team needs to focus on to improve from last season.

His answer to paraphrase was that they tried to have 2 goals, winning and development and that it isn't possible to do that. They need to focus on just 1 goal moving forward.

Any idea if that winger we had in our prospects camp the last 2 years has been signed by anyone? Tough guy who scored at a decent clip in his over age season this year. I think from Saskatoon in the W.

Was hoping we would land him and he could be an up and coming Dorsett type.

Not lots to go on I know

EDIT: Jon Martin - Swift Curent is the guy
