I hope they lose but I already have a feeling lol. The Bolts seem to young and fresh to go with this pittsburgh team if it is actually on again like in 09. I guess at this point I wouldn't mind Dallas or the Sharks winning it all.

I'm hoping for St Louis or Nashville, but anyone but the Pens would be fine.

Biggest disappointment would probably be Voracek, he really struggled this year. Matt Read would be a close 2nd

I wondered about Jake but thought he turned it up late ? Wasn't sure if it was enough to keep him out of the biggest disappointment territory.

What has happened to Read.

He is in Vandevelde area that offense just dies when it is on his stick. And it's like his speed has just vanished.

Have to wonder if last seasons injury cost him a step.

He had some flashes, but for the most part he struggled. I do think a lot of it was injury related and I think he'll bounce back next year

While I agree, that the Flyers tight box on triangle and 1 strategy was relatively effective late in the season, the passiveness of the box was extreme early in the series. I understand being cautious on allowing seam passes for Ovechkin one timers, but the Flyers were too slow to adjust.

Caps just have so many weapons on the PP; especially when Carlson was playing as well as he was in the series against us. Between the 3 of Ovi, Backstrom, and Carlson, we couldn't contain all 3.

Yeah.

He just seems so ineffective. He isn't really physical and now that he seems slower he just seems like a waste.

Also Holtby didn't allow any suspect goals against the Flyers. He seemed very meh in the Penguins series.

Agreed, they were just too passive.

The MacDonald goal in Game 4 was pretty suspect.

Well he certainly didn't have any challenges thrown his way on our PP and we struggled to get good quality shots on net a lot of the series. Pens had at least mid 30s in shots in each game.

Pens are simply a better team than the Flyers, hopefully that changes over the next couple of seasons

Add to that all the failed clears and turnovers after gaining possession of the puck. If we had created a drinking game where you took a drink for every failed clear, most of us would have been dead before the 4th game started.

One day, the Golden Seals will win one.

Also, Ottawa has now been around for 23 seasons with one SCF win. That's a pretty long streak itself.

So Bill would you bring back all the assistants? If not who would you let go? Who would you look to possibly replace them with?

Pens and Caps are superior to the flyer sin every way really. Flyers have a long way to go.

Pittsburgh's window will be closing soon. In 2-3 years every significant player on their roster will be in their 30's with a poor prospect pool behind them. I also think their current blue line is pretty average so it will be interesting if they do win the cup this year. It would be the worst blue line as far as talent to win it since Carolina IMO.

Washington does have some nice young players that should keep their window open. But it doesn't matter. Championships are won at the draft table. So either the Flyers will outdraft the teams ahead of them or they won't. Current ground doesn't matter.

the Seals should have stayed in the bay area and the A's should have stayed in Philly
