First.
I predict an exceptionally "chippy" game. I hope they play with the same intensity and torque that they played with in Game 3.
It's a great day for hockey. |

Little to no chance they healthy scratch Fiddler.
Nichushkin and Ritchie in for Mckenzie and Moen.
Stars will sub out skill for grit, they can't answer the Blues physically so they have to hope to outscore them.
Stars have to ignore Reaves and just play a skilled game. If they play the right way Reaves ability to impact the game is already capped. If they worry too much about him, and get running around he's won. |

That's OK by me. But I think Dallas will instead come out and try to reestablish their speed and skill and try to get some goals on the board.
It doesn't suit them to play chippy. |

The Stars aren't likely to be as ineffective as they were in game 3. If the Blues play like they did in game 3, what the Stars are able to accomplish isn't likely to matter. If the Blues come out flat, watch out. |

Finish your checks, limit the transition game, get the matchups you want and keep the forecheck going and well be looking at finishing this up Saturday. |

Wished they would have taken advantage of a couple of the other Dallas breakdowns in the first period. |

Blues are playing well. Need to keep forcing turnovers and capitalize on some more of the chances they are getting. We willlget more. lets bury them. Computer seems to be on its last leg. Not sure how much more i can get out of it.l |

Dallas had 6 guys for about 15 seconds before Tarasenko's goal...... And he still got clear of all 6 of them by 15 ft.
Not sure how the refs missed that. |

Some may lament the non-call on Benn cross checking Lehtera down as he tried to backhand the ot winner only to have the Stars score seconds later. #noexcuses

I lament two terrible defensivenplays that led to goals. I also deeply lament that Elliott is still being considered good. He has been coughing up bad rebounds and for the second time as a Blue has given up a softie in over time in the second round of a play off series. Or Tarasenko hitting the post.
The Blues played with over confidence and got away from their game. They bailed more times than not on the offensive blue line. It was the pressure that beat the Stars the last game.
Parayko added to the dmen blunders by being out of position on the play but all the same that should never go in on a decent goaltender and I would suggest that is all Elliott is--decent. He had a hot streak thatbhas vanished since game six against the Hawks.
Wish Allen never got hurt.
Anyway the team shows again the core seems to not have a killer instinct. There are signs of it, like the last game but this game geesh. If they had decided to exert themselves the Stars would have folded up the game and the series.
Now it is a best of three with two games in Dallas. Better get a another two game winning streak.
JayBo = Pierre-Luc Dubois. So passive.
Still amazed me Tarasenko gets a break away with six Stars on the ice and not one ref with a hand up. Guess it was a good thing.
Just a few minutes of bad play and mistakes and it costs you the game. Stastny and Brouwer need to work on elevating pucks.

If they would have played with more fire in that period they would have won the series in that period. Dallas was not confident. Lehtonen was not yet confident. Now that damn goalie is going to be confident and his teammates will be as well. Now they will gamble more to their style. With Elliott in net and some of the dman miscues that makes for bad things. |
