Hahah great stuff.
They now have one good player, so they certainly wouldn't want another one. |

I think Garf needs to recalibrate his hairpiece. It is receiving mixed transmissions. |

So let me get this straight...
Toronto no longer wants Stamkos, because they can now draft Matthews.
BUT... Tim Murray wins... even though the Sabres have Eichel, who apparently is much better than Matthews, and RoR.
I guess you saying that:
Matthews + Kadri > RoR and Eichel?

But Garth...from your LAST WEBLOG, "Murray would have no use for Matthews, a center, because he is already stacked at that position with Ryan O'Reilly, Jack Eichel, Samson Reinhart, Zemgus Girgensons and Johan Larsson already performing well at that position last season. Where would Matthews play in Buffalo?"
This section of the HB site is going to be extremely entertaining over the next little while. Everyday will bring such amazement and joy. I cannot wait!! ...let the fun begin!! |

C'mon Garth. Stamkos will play the wing in Buffalo but not Toronto?
Stammer is going home, and that's ok. Let's just hope Pegula is there to drive up the price like he did with Babcock.

I don't think that is a done deal by any means.
If NYR could move some cap space, I could see him going there. I could see Montreal maybe also.

Tim Murray wins. He planned losing this 'rigged' draft in an elaborate scheme to swoop in and get Stamkos while the Leafs brass are distracted by winning the draft lottery. The Sabres will also get Cam Fowler for spare parts. Yep, it's all coming together.
By the way, Gaffe, can you show me exactly where the lotto was rigged? I'm having a hard time spotting it.

You know, I've come to realize Garth really is the best blogger on this site. Pure comedic gold in every blog.
We just got Mathews, why would we possibly need another star center, arguably one of the best goal scorers in the league, who is in the middle of their prime and could help mentor Mathews? WHO NEEDS STAMKOS? WE HAVE BROOKS LAICHS? |

as long as the team is a legit Stanley Cup contender.
There are only a handful of team who can enter the Stamkos sweepstakes now that Toronto is seemingly out of it.
The Buffalo Sabres will be right there at the front of the line when the Stammer Sweeps open on July 1.
Do you have no shame? |
