Jaro's taking some shots in practice today. having him ready as a backup would be fantastic. Greiss has been unreal, but Jaro is still my guy. I wouldn't switch it up unless Greiss really started to struggle though.

I like Halak, but Greiss is my guy now. He is putting himself in a position to make this team his now. Hope he keeps it up.

After all the talk about the Isles having too many centers, now they could use one more.

Love the Prince-Rogers(Strome)-Nelson line and would love to see Nielsen back with JT and KO. But that would leave Quine, Kulemin and Bernier as a spare-parts 3rd line with no legit NHL center (Kulemin's played about 5 shifts at center in 2 seasons).

Capuano basically ruled out Pulock for Saturday but said he wouldn't hesitate to put Pulock back in when the D-man is healthy.

If he goes back on the top PP with Leddy at the other point it’ll be a huge boost to our PP. I think our PP was 3 of 4 with him and leddy on the points at the same time.

Greiss would have to have consecutive melt-downs to even think of replacing him. He's in a groove right now. He's playing big. He's controlling rebounds, and his body language is projecting total confidence. Its infectious.

totally agree, he's playing much better than I expected or hoped for. I'm still a bit leery on the idea of moving Halak, having them both next year again would be awesome. I still think something may happen to make room for Berube though.

as far as playoffs - Greiss unless he melts down in back to back games.

Nice...looks like that puck knocked some sense into the "create lineup" part of Cappy's brain.

Goaltending is a case of going with the hot hand...... and glove and stick and legs.

With the minimum of one or two days of rest between games, the playoffs do favor the goaltending and defense. Even Jaro wouldn't argue going with the hot hand because that is how he likes it.

Right now the rest of the team has to maintain good depth and speed since it took TB almost three periods to get in the game and series. Greiss's lateral movement was a good match against their style, but our d better be prepared for the next game.

Cooper: Carle and Condra day to day, Stralman/Stamkos/Brown still out.

Further clarification on Stralman:

Cooper said Condra, Carle and Blunden day to day. Stralman not near close. #TBLightning

Prospect update; Seattle is led by star forward Matt Barzal, who looks like a man among boys on the ice against his WHL peers. Barzal, a 16th overall draft pick to the New York Islanders in 2015, leads all Western Conference players with 19 points in these playoffs (five goals, 14 assists).

Ho Sang heading to the OHL finals, and Beauvillier/Shawinigan is/are up 2-1 in their semi-final series. If, and it's a major long shot, all three of those prospects win their respective leagues then they will all face off in the Memorial Cup. Pretty cool.

Soundtigers were eliminated by Toronto last night.
Not sure if that makes Mayfield or MDC eligible.

According to TSN’s Darren Dreger, that format includes the protection of seven forwards, three defensemen and a goalie, or eight skaters and a goalie. There’s an exemption for second-year pros, meaning that if the draft is held in 2017 neither Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel would have to be protected.

It will be another interesting thing for us to talk about when the time comes. Who do you protect and are coaches eligible to be taken by the expansion teams.

Would be better for the Isles this year. I think u have to leave a certain % of your Sallaried players exposed too... 20%... off the top of my head Bailey, Grabovski, kulemin, Zid, Strait, Mayfield and Berube would be about 17 mill .. which would cover 20% of 70 cap. ...unless u can't include UFA.

Next year if we sign some guys Martin, Greiss, Ok/Nielsen, Strome, Casey, Prince, Quine, Mayfield.. it will get very dicey.

BPT lost 6-4 in Game 3 to Toronto and was swept in the 1st round of AHL playoffs. Could see a few guys join #Isles when team returns home.

Dal Colle would have to sign a PTO to join the Isles, I believe. He had like 1pt in 7 AHL games, (3reg, 4 playoff). He has no business with the Islanders anyway.
