Great great article Ty!

I think it may be one of your best, as you nailed the issues plaguing the team over the last half decade.

Personally, if there are question around everyone in management and a difficulty trying to find who is at fault, I'd rather start fresh. I wish we would just clear everyone out from the coach on up. But, we will see what another off season will bring with this group.

Wish we had a Dombrowski running the show. That may be a couple more years any though.

A really great read, Ty. Its very interesting to take a look at the decisions that led to where they are now. I think the big thing is drafting, as you touched on. When you have more misses than hits, its eventually going to catch up with you. Teams like Detroit (thought not great recently) Chicago and L.A have had more hits, and its lead to prolonged success. (5 cups between L.A/Chicago since 2010 and 25 seasons of making the playoffs or Motown)

I'm sure they will go off the board again this year for the draft.

Is there another Subban or Schenn brother we could draft? This team seems to celebrate mediocrity so it could work.

This was a good read. As a keen western conference observer, I'm interested to see where PC will take the Oilers given what he inherited and his previous successes/failures. They've sold the fan base on potential now for the last 5 years without any results. Granted, McDavid and a new arena will shift the focus a bit, but those long term $6 mil contracts for Hall, RNH, and Eberle, has set a dangerous precedent. The future of PC's team is awfully cloudy.

I'm sure the Staal family has a few more coming down the pike. Somewhere Sweeney is salivating.

I got the point: Strong team with a strong core that could contend for years and was mismanaged to ruins.

Still "Dynasty" in sports usually refers to multiple championships in a small time span (1-3 years).

Amazing read Ty. Nailed so many points precisely. Chiarelli, and Sweeney, just backing the wrong horses. As a Leafs fan, I witnessed the Kessel trade as the loss that it was, only to see the team lose it to themselves. It's tragic really, because Boston fans deserved better.

I was watching the 2015 draft that had the Bruins picking 3 in a row in a pretty strong draft. I went from thinking, wow they are going to get three great players, to wtf are they doing picking these players when they still had Kyle Connor, Barzal, Svetchnikov, White, Aho, Sprong, etc etc all on the board.

The jury is still out on Zboril (who looks like a player) and Debrusk ,(Senyshyn scored 45 in jr. but was still considered a reach at the time).

To me it made the Bruins have that "we are smarter than you and will go outside the box" look. A team in their spot might not be wanting to do that. I've seen the Flyers get burned one too many times with that mentality.

In the end it looks like they may have done ok. But passing on Connor, who lit it up for Michigan this season, and Svechnikov, had me doubting their drafting sanity.

The league is definitely better with the Bruins in the postseason.

Neely absolutely oversees all trades, he is the common denominator, until he is removed from the equation, failure is assured!
