Ok. I'll bite.

Beyond analysis of last year's lines, I'd like to see a blog on possible lines for next season. And by all means, would like to see some fancy stats used to back up the potential combinations.

I realize Maurice had to do some juggling in the last month or so with the injuries to Perreault and Little but I was a bit puzzled for his rationale for placing certain centres with certain particular wingers (Burmi and Staff for one) and why the hell he put Copp in between Armia and Petan? I'd have rather seen Lowry centre that line (as Lowry and Armia seemed to be developing chemistry prior to Armia's injury). Personally, given the situation they were in (meaningless games), I would have liked to have seen what Petan could do at centre with say Staff and Armia.

Frankly, I was puzzled at the idea of playing Burmi with pretty much anyone on the team.

Lets talk about lines for next year once the draft lottery is completed.

It would be awesome to hear...at center for your Winnipeg Jets number 34, Austin Mathews.....here is hoping......

In the event the Jets win the draft lottery, should they trade down to get Chuychun (can't spell the guys name to save my life. The #1 dman in the draft). We don't need another C in Matthews as Schiefele-Little-Lowry-Copp is strong as is. I wouldn't mind one of the big Finnish wingers though.

I wouldn't be hurt if we won the lottery but I'd like one of the two finns in winnipeg, I think they'd be a good fit.

Bryan Little is a more effective winger. The guy scored 30 goals on the wing when he was in Atlanta.

For sure - grades/who should stay, who should go

Biggest gaps - wingers, C, Dmen, right side, left side, and goalies

And round it off with - best line & D combos ... include movement - a number of our guys have played both C and wing (Little, Perrault, Burmi (ugh), Lowry, etc) ... how do we strengthen left side D ?

Little is a center really. Right now the only center that can win face offs for the jets. If anything I hope the jets draft a left defenseman so Stuart will be gone sooner. Or a center that can win face offs. I wonder if the jets might trade down the second first rounder to get maybe a couple 2nd round picks and a 3rd round pick.

My question would be out of the young guys that came up and played which player or players do you see sticking with the team next year. Since there will be a lot of competition for those spots. And do the jets trade stafford and/or burmi for something since stafford's decisions of getting the puck out of his own zone is pretty bad i.e. That's why his +/- is so bad. And with burmi he doesn't really have that much chemistry with anyone maybe except Dano and he seems to want to do everything himself.

I partied with Mess one night in Vancouver. It was a hilarious evening and no young boys were involved.

Little is our best faceoff man by a mile. Yeah he head 31 goals as a RW, but that was a long time ago and he was on the same line as Kovalchuk.

Little is by far better as a Center. If Schief continues to improve and Little keeps it up, we'll have two first line centres.

If the Jets stay at the 6th pick, i would love nothing more than for them to pick Juolevi, Chychrun doesn't impress me, and watching his slide in rank scouts feel the same. With their late 1st round pick, I'd like to see them pick Stanley, he is a big rugged defenseman ( 18 years old and already 6'6 ). We lack any difference makers outside of Morrissey on D, and feel this is a good time to stock up. They generally take longer to develop, and could eventually take the reins. Dubois would be the steal if he was still available however!!

To say Lowry should of C, Copp's line is silly. They produced better than any 3rd line we ever had in Jets 2.0. Although very small sample size, but there was chemistry there.

Burmi, while it took him a while to get re-accustomed to the North American game, I feel really came a long in the 2nd half of the season. And his value on the PK can't be under estimated.

Peter do you think, we finally see a move away from the boat anchors known as Stuart, and Thorburn? Looking up the corresponding "fancy stats" they are a serious burden on the team, and no amount of "intangibles" can make up for it. Stuart more so than Thorburn. I don't think it was a coincidence that our PK got a lot better while he was out. He is statistically one of the worst penalty killers in the league.

I believe we will see the move to Helle next year, with Pavs as the safety net for when he falters ( Not permanent, but most rookies will go through a rough patch. )

What would you think our defensive pairings look like next year? I would hope something along the lines of:
Trouba - Buff : GF60 2.64 GA60 1.24 CF% 56.9 ( Zone Adjusted 5v5 )
Their advanced stats are something dreams are made of, jokes. But in the small time they played together playing at an elite level.

Enstrom - Myers : GF60 1.75 GA60 1.75 CF% 52.6 ( Zone Adjusted 5v5 )
Enstrom really helps cover up Myers faults, if he could learn to pinch properly the way Buff has tuned it down could help him out a lot.

Chairot - Postma: GF60 2.83 GA60 3.30 CF% 56.7 ( Zone Adjusted 5v5 )
While outscored while on the ice 5v5, Postma did have some issues when he first came in. They were a positive possession pairing, which is a lot more than you can say for Chairot & Stu

Although hard to see Stuart out, and they seem to really dislike Postma even though once he shook off the rust, was a decent defense man. And you can't forget his 149 points in 226 AHL games.

I think next year we will see Stuart and Thorburn spend more time in the press box than years past. I think the Postma experiment needs to end, I just dont see an NHL Defenceman there. I would much rather move Chairot back to his natural right side and let Morrisey play third pair left side.

It is funny that you say you don't "See" a NHL defenseman yet, i showed you his stats that prove completely different. Although small sample size, he easily belongs on our bottom pair. If you followed Morrissey's development this passed season you would know he isn't ready for the NHL yet.
