Was hoping they could have put the game away during the 5 minute major. Mason made the save of the game for sure. Even got a bit of luck when Fehr gonged one off the bar at the end of the 1st.

Beyond happy today. Kudos to Ottawa and Rags too.

Two very different teams facing off. Washington hasn't had to dig deep in months, if at all this season. When you're that skilled you dont have to. We've been in playoff mode since about mid February, clawing and fighting for every point.

Basically we've got a Rocky IV scenario on our hands boys.

It's a good feeling to be playoff bound. The series with caps should be good. Whenever your goaltender is playing like mason has your team has a chance.

I was in my 40s the last time this team made the playoffs.

So much waiting.

Wasn't pretty, but they hung in there. That's not saying much when the opposing team rests their two best players, and are just out to play spoiler.

Seeing how they played down the stretch, I would be lying if I said I was optimistic about knocking off the Caps. I really hope it's just a matter of fatigue and they recover from the "jitterness".

Sit everyone you can tomorrow. call up as many defensemen as the cap allows. PLay Umberger, Weal, Laughton, Medvedev. Sit Giroux, Ghost, Voracek, Couturier, and whoever else you can if they call up players.

It just dawned on me, can they call up Sanheim and Fazleev tomorrow? And maybe that is why they aren't playing tonight?

Fazleev is injured and hasn't played with the Phantoms. I highly doubt they give Sanheim a game. More so just letting him get a game off in a 3 game weekend. Though NAK is playing so idk. He's been bad so far so maybe he sits tomorrow.

That would be awesome. The Devils are playing Zacha and Santinin who just left BC after getting eliminated from the Frozen 4. Zacha just got his first NHL point.

Amazing run the last 6 weeks to make the playoffs. Last few games were rough, but they got to the playoffs. That is a great job in year one of a new coach, with Hextall still in the infancy of his GM position. Everything going forward is gravy from here. That said, the regular season series indicates the Flyers can give the Caps all they want.

I'd love to see Sanheim play tomorrow. I don't understand why the wouldn't let him play?

Just get a split in Washington and they will get in their heads coming back to Philly.

I won't be upset at all if they get beat by the team who won the President's Trophy. The Caps strike me as a team that are front runners though, I don't know how tough they are, and how they would handle adversity. Caps are the heavy favorites, and rightfully so, but I think it's going to be a competitive series.
