May want to update to include the Edmundson extension - Gerk
Figured that was old news already.
Edmundson has had a better year than Lindbohm had last year but a 2 way, 2 year deal with an aav of about 1 million was expected imho. |

How much would you guys suggest Berglund would cost in a trade? Mid pick? Prospect? |

outshot 22 to 9 and scoring chances are an even worse ratio.
Nilsson should have been swapped in to send a message to the team imho....could bring Elliott back in later but they need a wakeup call. |

Something told me after that first goal that Ovie wanted 50 tonight. Rough loss if Nashville pulls through. |

that game was an egg but an interesting one. did not seem like they tried really.
i am hoping that was about creating counter intelligence for scouting. some of the things they have done on special teams is not normal for them.
seemed like when i joined the game with the score 3-1 in the second the caps were being fvored to win. watched tarasenko get a high stick, upshall thrown down into the goal and at the other end without being pushed williams falls onto elliott without a call. seemed surreal.
when reaves took that nut shot nothing. very strange.
a very strange game.

No.
Whose jersey did you think I got? I'll have to go back and watch it again. |

I am not going to write on the Haks blg and comment on JJ's post but he vastly underestimated and failed to see some important factors.
He stated the season series but forgot to mention when the Hawks won the Blues were significantly decimated by injuries and if you are going to talk about psychology why over look the fact the Blues came back twice to win and you can say three on three blah blah blah, but both teams play that way and during the normal game the Hawks failed to nail down those wins especially the first time.
He also mentioned the game against the Caps and I am telling the Blues did not try full out. The lines and pairings were abnormal.
He has decried the lack of defensive depth and fails to see the superior depth there for the Blues. Fails to note the team bested the Hawks while never icing a healthy line up once in the season.
Backes was taking a break probably for some injuries that he was able to play through.
I am telling you the Blues wanted to face the Hawks. They will never come out and say it, but it looks like a reality.
If the Hawks win so be it. None of us have any control. But thos team did something special this year by battling through all those injuries and coming back in games. I know the regular season and play off failure but this year is different in my book. With all that youth and all those injuries they could have choked and ended up where Colorado did.
I just hope for some good hockey and a high compete level for the Blues and not to have to witness anymore cheap crap from the Hawks players so they can win.

I skipped right to his predictable prediction and didn't read any more in to his thoughts.
We shall see if this blues team can muster what it takes to win.
I hope we see some blues hockey in May this year.
;30 start time is going to cause me to miss some of game 1
I wish the NHL would punish the Least Conference like they do the West.

You wanted 'em, you got 'em.
Now it comes down to what "something" will be different this year that hasn't been in years past?
How important will Game 1 minus Duncan Keith be to the winner?
And how healthy is Corey Crawford? |

How will the rookies play in the playoffs? How big of an impact will Troy Brouwer have
Will the blues play blues hockey or will they try and goon it up.
All good questions |

This is the reason the Blues (in many people's opinion - not mine personally) overpaid with Oshie for Brouwer and I expect him to be a big-time playoff contributor.
I don't think the Blues will try and goon up for this series. I think they realize the Hawks speed has to be contained so they'll have a defensive structure in place.
Someone over in the P-D forum posted the Blues' roster from two years ago when they played the Hawks.....
This roster is soooooo much better and deeper in skill. |

Should the Blues play Reaves or put in Jaskin or Upshall in his place? Speed will be at a premium and the ability to roll four lines will be important too... |
