Dan Spiegel: Trocheck Injury Adding Stress To Stretch Run

Someone can check my math, but I believe a Panther win tonight plus a Detroit loss tomorrow (In regulation, of course) and we clinch. That would put Detroit 8 back, and with 4 games left. We would also have 43 wins to their 38, so even if they win out and we lose out, we are tied in points with more wins.

Either way, a win tonight and we are sitting pretty. NYI and NYR for the Lightening coming up could really spell their first place chance.

Despite it all, still nervous about clinching... I just want it done prior to the last game or two. It never comes easy...

Was more referring to Detroit's games left, but forgot that it is ROW that is the tie breaker, and not just Wins. Oh well, lets aim for Saturday!

Detroit plays tonight and Saturday. If Detroit loses either of those games in regulation and we win tomorrow, we clinch.

Since the Habs are out of the playoffs, Mellanby should drop the ceremonial first puck at the first home Panther playoff game? Beezer should get one too?

That mid 90s run was fun to watch and had the best 1-0 game I have ever seen in my life except I wanted the other team to win.

A first round exit would be a failure for this team. We can beat the Islanders and Boston in round one. Can't stress enough how important this is for the organization and the young players growth.
