I bet panthers move to quebec

That all makes sense
Isn't Florida getting a new arena though?
Could be Carolina moving to Quebec...
Although with the Canadian dollar they way it is, I can't see any new Canadian team until it rebounds

The Canadian Gov't doesn't want the dollar to rebound. They want it to stay in that 70's range.

Like Arizona, the league has spent too much time aiding the panthers to just abandon ship. If anybody's relocating it will be Carolina. I agree though until the CDN dollar gets back up there its more likely that team relocates to western usa.

Really?
What's the reasoning behind that?

Tough to see Quebec get a team of the dollar can't get up to around 90cents
For a few years, wasn't it even stronger than the U.S. Dollar?

Yeah, makes sense
Then maybe Nashville would move to the East

A weak CDN forces canadians to spend here vs exchange and get cheaper goods in the US and it also makes it easier for foreign investors and exporting. Drives away a lot of the US companies in canada that need to turn a profit in US dollars. Makes them either set up shop here or leave. It's why Canada was like the one country where the Xbox one was cheaper than the PS4.

Edit: That's just exchange though, I think what's needed for quebec to succeed is stability with the dollar. The exchange value doesn't necessarily tell you the whole story. That one year the CDN was 20 cents up on the US was probably the weakest the canadian dollar had ever been. It was only up as a reaction to how weak the USD got.

They wanted to stop cross boarder shopping (them coming here to buy clothes) and re ignite Hollywood going to Canada to make movies. I read quite a few articles about it 18 months ago and all signs pointed to the powers wanting to have Americans going there to spend money, not the other way around.

@MapleLeafs I'd ask for dating advice but clearly you can't score either.

That's all interesting...
But can't Canada just tax their citizens a higher amount when bringing back US goods?
I think that's what countries like China do
Have such a huge tax on imported goods, that ppl are basically forced to shop at home

Hmmm... That makes sense then
Keep $$$ coming in, instead of going out

Makes me wonder if a team in Quebec would be a good idea?
The salary cap is gonna keep going up
Even with the seats filled every night, at some point it's gonna really tough on Canadian teams

Toronto & Montreal are obvious exceptions
And maybe Vancouver
