So did Lehner have some sort of brain surgery to tighten up the screws he had loose?
To be fair, all goalies are a little loose upstairs me thinks... |

"At 6'5" and 240 pounds, Lehner is like an MMA fighter covered in padding."
Maybe he oughta lose some padding, ankles can't support all that weight. Doesn't matter how tough you are, can't get into any pissing contests when you're not on the ice. |

He missed 27 games last year and 40+ games this year. Does make you wonder if he'll be able to stay heathy. |

Some how I doubt that Lehner gives a rats ass where Scrivens ends up. |

Are Sabres fans still laughing about the Vanek-Moulson trade?
For all the carping and bluster, you ended up netting a winger who makes about a million dollars per goal and a chronically injured goalie! |

Yeah I'm sure Scrivens is curled up in a corner somewhere just quivering in fear that big bad Lehner is going to come after him. |

To be fair. He suffered a fluke where he got kicked in the head last year to miss the last month and a half. And he came back before he was in top shape, hit a rut in the ice and busted his ankle. Maybe that adds up to being "injury prone". I think it makes him unlucky and a bit impetuous, but who could blame him? It's a new team and he wanted to make an impact.
If he comes into next season and misses any significant time then I'll be willing to say he's injury prone, but right now I'd say he's just unlucky. |

Don't let his 5-9-5 record deceive you.
Last I learned , A winning record means a good goalie. Great stats say our forwards need to score more. 1-0 games would give that more substance. |

Although Lehner was decent this year, I feel that Cal Petersen might be our goalie of the future. Especially if next year Lehners injuries still linger, it might be time to invest elsewhere. |

Nothing> Moulson + Lehner - Snowblind
I can't stand Moulson, but here is what Buffalo ended up with after trading away a pending UFA in Vanek (a good choice to move him it would appear by his play since then):
Jack Nevins (bust I think)
2016 7th (yippee)
Lehner
Legwand (expiring contract)
3 prospects Buffalo drafted:
Brendan Guhle (HF score: 7.0/C)
Eric Cornel (HF score: 6.5/C)
Brycen Martin (HF score: 6.5/C)
Nothing world beating, though Guhle looked good in camp this season so there is some hope there, but not a bad haul for 1 guy and moves with the pieces that came from it.
One slight note, part of the return gotten when Moulson was traded to Minnesota also included the powerhouse hockey player that was Cody McCormick that went along with Moulson...but I'm ignoring him as he is not much of an NHL player. |

Did you ever watch Lehner play? A 2.47 GAA and .924 save percentage (tied for 6th). I'd say that, plus the prospecta we got in the deal, guhle especially, plus the addition by subtraction of getting rid of vanek still is more than worth it |

Yup, we stil love the trade. Lehner has shown to be an above average goalie with .924 while playing on a wounded ankle....ever had a high ankle sprain...I have and it doesn't feel right for 18 -24 months. That after not having played for the previous 10 months...no working out due to concussion.
I can't wait to see what he looks like on two good wheels and after playing through the summer and getting in game shape physically and mentally.
That trade was a steel.
Yes Moulson sucks, I think he comes back next season to pot say 15... Still expensive but, eh!
So eat it!
