any news on Girgens?

COR, a career AHL player is anchoring the 3rd line, not Gus, and Larsson is up on the second line.

For some reason, he is not fitting in with this coach at all.

Imo he was over hyped since day one. He has good moments but really he was just one of a few that put in a lot of effort on an AHL caliber team.

If Jack had someone like P Kane finishing for him like Panarin has, Jack would be leading in assists too.

Those rookie leaders are looking good (including McDavid of course) Love watching all of them play. Good speed... talent... and amazing vision. Plenty of entertaining Hockey for years to come.

serious answer here

when the season started, ennis, and ror were projected top 6 guys, mcbain, a fringe second or 3rd liner

ok, if girgens is anchoring the 3rd line fine

but now, those three have been out of the lineup, larsson is the center bumped up to the second line not girgens

girgens who was playing win a big on the second line in essence is buried on the 3rd line on the wing with a career AHL player anchoring the second line

this smells a lot like foligno, who in essence is buried now on the 4th line for long stretches

rumors out there that he does not play the coaches system, and honestly we are at the point where the long term players need to be identified for roll spots moving forward and others need to be cast off in packages for upgrades

deslaurers, foligno, larsson have shown that they are able to move up a line for stretches due to injuries

girgens has not

I am ok with this, let the hawk player win this

I don't need to see drop passes to Jack on the pp anytime soon

so, Larsson does?

overrated bum girgensons: 59 games, 5 goals, 9 assists, minus-2
second line god Larsson: 63 games, 6 goals, 4 assists, minus-7

I don't get it

That post has been the description of 2-4 Sabres every season going back 10 years or more. You would think it's the teams mission statement.

So in closing.................................. He has no business in the top 6 and Larsson has more value.

Meh, there is no point in making assumptions at this point. Panarin is a good player and deserves to win if he keeps up his production. One can easily say if McDavid never got hurt he would be leading this race by a country mile. Eichel is doing great regardless if he wins or not.

Larsson has been outplaying Girgensons for sometime now, to much love for useless players over the years on this team and we wonder why the still suck.

before Bylsma found chemistry with Gionta, Larsson and Foligno, Gionta was a bum who couldn't be traded fast enough, Larsson was stuck in a slump that had him with 2 goals in 54 games and the only reason that Foligno is still in the nhl was because of his name...

now they're the teams second line?

Saturdays game after 2 periods Gus had 6:49 minutes of ice time, Larsson 10:53 I believe.
