Gotta love the biased idiots at NBC. Not ONE mention of what was probably the best highlight of the NHL yesterday....bunch of tools for commentators....

Yeah but it has to.do with the fact we're out of the playoffs and Carolina basically is too. We can enjoy it even if they didn't mention it.

I get that, but would have been nice to have it seen in the national spotlight

Jack Eichel is 8th in scoring since Xmas break. He has 13g and 19a in 36 games. Only Crosby, Thornton, Kane, Kuznetsov, Kopitar, Letang and Getzlaf are ahead of him.

Cheers!

Eichel's 48 points is also second behind Panarin (37) and his 26 assists rank him third amongst rookies.

I think most of us that are level headed realize this team has nowhere to go but up and that we have many gems on the team.
...even if one of their last names is Girgensons.

....and yeah, i know. He doesnt belong in the top 6.
But someone should say it again just in case the universe doesnt know.

Currently we're 5th or 6th from last. If we don't get lucky in the lottery (unlikely) we'll probably pick lower than where we finish as it's possible a team better than us Lealp frogs us by getting the 1st, 2nd or 3rd pick. So, if we end up picking say 6th we'd end up probably choosing between one of the top tier dmen (chychrun/juolevi/sergyachov) and a 2nd tier forward (Luc Dubois/Nylander). All solid prospects but probably guys that don't play in the NHL at 18,, which is okay. Not sure which if those d shoot left, but that may be a factor in the decision-making. If we think we have a chance at Stamkos (believe me GMs talk to agents all the time and GMTM will have a good idea) then I could see us trading the pick for immediate d help. With the draft in Buffalo, I think the trade wouldn't be announced to when we're on the clock. What I'm thinking I'm trying to say is that the draft will be damn exciting

Kane's play was better than Eichel's. What was so special about his play? He saw NO coverage, cherry picked, then did a normal forehand/backhand 5 hole... Am I missing something here?

You know the goal?...the thing the goaltender stands in front of?
He put the puck in it.
Google "puck" if you're not sure what that is.

I did the simulator yesterday one time and had us picking 2nd. I think if the pick is 5-7 TM should look at moving it. Chychrun, Sergachev and Juolevi are all LH.

I didn't think it was a "highlight reel goal" or anything but it was pretty smooth. Pretty calm backhand at a pretty critical moment.

If we make a similar move as we did last year (kane, OReiily, Lehner) to bump up our rebuild then I could see us doing it. If GMTM thinks one of those is a special player, than I don't think it makes sense to trade for very good but not great dman. Remember, Ritso was picked at #8, a similar spot where we'll probably end up picking this year in a draft with similar depth to that one

I think it was his calmness and knowing exactly how much time he had left. Did not rush it and made it look easy.

I agree, it was not an out of this world goal, but the situation is what made me say "wow" when it happened.

Its caleed Buffalo Exceptionalism.
Everything is special in hockey heaven.

If theres a perceived slight against their team or beloved "star players" they take it personally. Garf is a product of this. He's the Trump of the Sabres. Created by this exceptionalism.

- Jurco_28

I think very few of us who post here are on Barf's threads or even read them. He is an embarrassment to us and certainly doesn't represent us.
