To give up almost a combined 100 shots in the passed two games and come away with 4 points is nothing short of spectacular. The Monster stole this one.

Also, JoMo needs to stay in this lineup. He's looked as good as he's ever been. Really like Acciari, and he's seemed to rejuvenate Ferraro as well. But were going to need other guys besides the Bergy line to start contributing offensively

With the tough schedule over the last 4 games (CHI, WAS, FLA, TB) I would have been happy with 4 points out of 8. 7 Points is unbelievable! Keep rolling boys!

I think ultimately that will kill them. But this has been pretty fun to watch so far.

It's no excuse, but they did have to kill 8 penalties in those 2 games.

Their powerplay though NEEDS to be shaken up. They were the best, now they aren't. Krejci has gone cold and needs to be replaced. Put Bergeron on that back point and put Marchand or Pasta up front. Krejci can run the second unit with Belesky, Chara, Liles, and whioever they don't put on the top unit (Pasta/Marchand)

Get Hayes outta here please.

I think it's all a matter of how Tuukka plays... if he continues the great play that he's been having recently into the playoffs, then they can make the 50 shot games work. But if Tuukka slips at all... then those 50 shot games are going to be brutal... like 6-7 goals a game brutal.

50 shots also doesn't mean 50 scoring chances... as Brick and Jack pointed out last night, Tampa's strategy was pretty much just throw everything on net and look for a rebound. I think I can live with the massive shot totals as long as they aren't giving up massive amounts of scoring chances as well. And I feel like they've been willing to trade chances a little more recently... it's not how they've played traditionally under Julien, but it's working as of recent, and it certainly makes the games exciting to watch.

Right. Freddy T brought it up this morning. Out of all those shots how may of those where perimeter shots? But still in general it helps their odds of winning if Rask is not seeing so much rubber. They're giving good efforts now which is a huge change from most of this season. Hopefully they can find a some level of consistency and begin to avoid things like the 2nd period against Florida.

Liles isnt a superstar, of course he gets a hearing. Ovechkin would have to stab someone to get maybe 1 game.

If he is suspended it better be minimal. What stupidity.

I wonder if Liles gets an extension. I mean it would have to be at a huge decrease in pay obviously. But if Sweeney wants to justify losing Eriksson for nothing. It could be that they have a decent run then sign their acquisitions. Stemp at a couple million, Liles at a couple million? Problem is that back-end logjam continues. Really need to move Seidenberg I think. At this point I believe Liles is more valuable than Seids. And I would much rather have Stemp on this team than Hayes.

Anyone want to show me the "incidental" contact on this elbow? Someone, anyone? Arm is up and extended out and Liles follows Kuch to his right to deliver head contact with his elbow. Plain as (frank)ing day

Liles has is arm up and it looks bad. Especially from the reverse angle. Arms is up and it hits Kucherov in the head. Its a headshot. Based on Liles' career up to this point I don't believe its intentional or a targeted headshot. Most likely going to be a fine.

I don't disagree. The fact Kuch came back also will play a factor in keeping discipline limited. How the (frank)ing refs missed that on the puck carrier is an entirely different story.

It's not really so much about the fact that he has a hearing, it's more that we're pissed off at the inconsistency with DoPS. If Ovechkin doesn't even get a hearing for his boarding penalty on Miller... which INJURED Miller, and put him out for the remainder of the game, and multiple games moving forward (quite possibly the rest of the season)... Then on this play where there's no penalty called... and no injury to the player... the hit doesn't deserve a hearing.

I have absolutely no problem with a penalty on that play (even though there wasn't one called), but that hit by Liles in comparison to the Ovechkin hit delivered to Miller... you can't suspend Liles and not even have a hearing for Ovechkin.... That's what we're pissed off about.

Yup. Glad there was no concussion there for sure. It's clear, elbow meets head...elbowing call. There is a ref in the zone and a linesman right there not really sure how you miss that.

Agreed. It's an unfortunate play. No intent to injure. No history. And the player returned. Kuch is also so low on the play..

Agree on no intent as it was a hockey play with Liles standing up at blueline to slow/stop opposing rush, but Kuch's head level is in no way an excuse for Liles arm/elbow extension. I would accept the head level excuse if it was shoulder to the head as in that case Liles would in theory be making what would otherwise be clean hit if not for Kuch being low.
