pretty amazing for Clode considering what an awful coach he is...
seriously though, its nice to see some consistency behind the bench, he was rumored to be fired halfway through the 2011 season, I had friends saying he's be gone before Christmas, and then no one expected him back this year either after the dismissal of Chiapet. And what he's done with the team this year has been pleasantly surprising.

I admit there have been a 1,000 times I've called for his head as well. But who out there replaces him? Just look at some of the guys like Tortorella or Michelle Therrien who continue to be recycled.

Stempniak the best trade deadline acquisition for any team? Anyone else surprised? Fits so perfectly on that line. Liles is no slouch either. Donny S deserves more credit than he's given.

They're good adds. You can still knock Sweeney for the asset management though. a 2nd, 2 3rds, 4th, 5th and Camara is a lot to give up for Rinaldo, Stempniak and JML. You could've had Stempniak on a PTO and Rinaldo was just a bad move.

Oh well. Hopefully he learns from these and does better in future trades.

I still don't mind the trades. The problems is all abouth Eriksson...

I wonder if he's on the third line to kind of make him seem less valuable

I agree 100% on the Rinaldo project... giving up a 3rd for him was too much. He will most likely never see the ice again in a Bruins uniform, considering he's suspended from both the NHL and AHL right now. But with the B's current prospect pool, I'm not against giving up some picks over the next few years to take a shot at winning a playoff round or two (the east is pretty wide open, IMHO). BTW, I went to watch Senyshyn play the other day and I was extremely impressed. The kid is an absolute gem and all of this while playing on a weaker junior team. He'll be receiving passes from Krejci or Bergy before we know it.

Nice. A lot good things being said about Senyshyn. There are some others doing well too most notably Lauzon, O'Gara and Heinen. I'm not opposed to trading picks or prospects. What I am opposed to is using assets poorly.

Sweeney read the Rinaldo situation incorrectly. His history is not good. Rinaldo is a red flag on skates. Ineffective in any other aspect of the game. He should still be a blight on Philly's roster not Boston's. If you were looking to add sandpaper to your lineup Rinaldo is not your guy. He is a cheap shot artist in the vein of Cooke and James Neal and that's about it. He has proven that once again.

EDIT: That's twice again.

I think that was Clause trying to juggle lines. After coming out FLYING in the 1st, the Bruins were extremely passive in the 2nd. (frank)ing Ghandi would have called them passive.

3rds 4th 5th Camara = 0 value. The B's have consistently been finding undrafted ufas that are better than most mid round picks (Krug, Miller, Vatrano, Czarnik, Acciari) mostly because of Sweeney. As long as that continues i dont mind Sweeney spending mid round picks like monopoly money. Especially if said acquisition pan out. You can only have so many prospects and the B's currently have a poop tonne in the 18-22 yo range. I wouldn't even be opposed to moving our first(s) also for a Trouba/Shattenkirk at the draft.

Rinaldo was Sweeney's worst move by far... I guess I'm just willing to look past it cus I get what he was thinking, and as I've stated before, as long as the B's keep finding these nobody's that become solid bottom 6/4 contributors he can do whatever he wants with those mid rounders

Connolly and Morrow are 1st rounders..........Tampa and Pitt. Semi-busts thus far.

Kessell, Seguin, and Hamilton our 1sts gone for whatever reasons.

Pasta our 1st seems like a solid player.

Bergy, Krejci, Sponer and Lucic are 2nds. (Koko too.)
Marchand is a 3rd.

We as a team have better luck with 2nds and 3rds than we do with first round picks........oddly enough.

Pastrnak is going to be great... Regardless of what we've been able to do with later rounds picks in the past, you can't undervalue 1st round picks. Let's not forget that was the past and this is new management making those picks. I'd say let's see what Zboril, DeBrusk, Shenyshyn, and our two first rounder from this year turn into, and hopefully this management team does a better job of holding onto our young talented players.

Goddam this has been a good game... this game and last night have both felt like playoff games. Claude looks like he's loosened up a bit and is letting the team think a little more offensively and it's been pretty fun to watch. Stempniak and Liles both look great, and now the team feels like it's got some real depth. I think this team should be considered legit, and the only team I'd be worried about is Washington... Holtby is our kryptonite
