I don't think that we will see one of the two Finns on this team next year, but one of them might have been a really good fit.

Stamkos, maybe, but if he signs here, does he stick to his want to play center? And I would rather see Stamkos with Reinhart as his center, if he would play wing.

So it is a good question about if there is someone in the organization to play with Eichel. I am willing to give Ennis that shot.

Also, the best play I saw Eichel make all year was that hack he gave Parise yesterday. Good to see some fire.

I think that he has that in him.

A couple of months ago, it was brought up by WGR about him and trash talking. He said that he will not start it, but he is more than willing to finish it.

I think right now he is just trying to be a respectful rookie.

good point...hopefully that's thrown out the window now...he's been all that and a bag of chips since the loss in "McEichel-I"

I think it Stamkos is interested in signing in BUF, who's at center will work itself out. Jack can play wing, and with his speed it may be a better position for him. He plays wing on left offense zone faceoffs with Kane at center, for instance and plays all over the place on the PP

Where did all the speculation about Stammer signing in Buffalo come from?

If I were to guess, the 4 most likely destinations would be Tampa, TO , Edmonton and Nashville .

some inside info from people who've gotten it right on other occasions...personally, he'd be nuts to leave tampa, especially with no state or local taxes in florida...adds 5-10% to his take home pay

edit: opps...sorry....

did you mention Edmonton, jero?

There are a couple of people on here that do know some things and have been right in the past. (take it for what it is worth)

Bob McKenzie said it as well, but it may have been taken out of context.

Stamkos might have said it trying to pull the Babcock scam.

McKenzie ran something a while back about us connected to Stammer, also numerous sources have that GMTM called TB over the summer and it wasn't about Drouin. Other than that hopes and dreams tend to fuel camp fires into fireballs in Buffalo. But even you like the sound of a Eichel Stammer duo, you can say it!

So here's my Armchair GM of the day. Who can play with Eichel? I think it still has to be Kane. Last couple games they have been able to use each other quite effectively. Kane did miss a tap in from Jack yesterday in the 1st period but when I watched it again Jack had a lottttt of mustard on it. They are the two top line players we have. RoR is a shutdown, PK, D zone face off guru, but IMO we aren't a contender until Jack is top line with Kane and Reinhart shoveling pucks in.

Jack has his Bylsma pair, if I can call it that, in Kane. It may take longer than 20 games playing together (after you subtract Kane injury time and time with RoR) to figure out where each other are going to be on these quick bang bang plays. Some of the best lines in the NHL are the longest tenured...staying together helps. Any forward would tell you that you learn about your linemates only by playing with them.

I think Stammer would be crazy to leave Tampa because they have a commited owner, a good team and its in Tampa.

If the reported 8 million per deal was offered that's a slap in the face that's not really committed if you ask me

I could obviously see TB if they stop lowballing him. I don't think he wants to be part of a 5 yr rebuild in Toronto. EDM, did you say EDM? No way.

What it comes down to is very few teams have $11m/yr in cap space and teams that do aren't too attractive from a competitive standpoint. Playing with Eichel, on a soon-to-be good team, in a low cost city (except taxes), 90 minutes from home, with a rather laid back media (sorry Jerry and Bucky) makes all the sense in the world

I think his Agents will find so many revenue streams besides his hockey contract in Toronto that it will be impossible for him to give up . I see a sign and trade with Tampa . Maybe Toronto gives up their lottery pick in exchange

That's correct, though I think it was 8.5m, still the same range and still a massive low-ball

Endorcements in Toronto make sense but no way in the world they give up a lottery pick (and they have the best odds now for #1) for a guy they can sign for no comp if he really does want to go to Toronto.

This whole "he want's to play near home" thing just sounds too good to be true to me.
