-Brayden Schenn missed the end of the game, and declined interviews. That hit had concussion written all over it. That is one (frank) among a game of many (frank)s.....he played after the fall, so maybe precautionary but who knows?

-A bounce or two in the second and this game is a different story. Just a tough loss at this juncture when they can ill afford an unlucky/bad game.

-I was glad to see Laughton on Coots's wing. The switch made sense with how bad Raffl/Gagner looked, but I wouldn't mind exploring that when Jake gets back. Now if only the staff would attempt to make the 2nd PP better than an AHL caliber PP. They have the pieces, but their desire to not use them is frustrating. White-AMac-Read-Gagner-Couturier. That's something all right...

And oh yeah...of course Brandon Manning will return...Medvedev got turnstiled on a goal by McDavid. Got to sit him. The Flyers corps of mistake free D who don't make any poor plays and never allow bad goals can't let him ruin things for the rest of them.

(Scapegoat, get your scapegoat here!)

I was shocked Mason wasn't in tonight. I think there's all but zero chance he's not in next game.

As for the stat, I have been told by many experts that win-loss is all that matters for goalies though and Mason lets in soft goals that hurt his team.

Where was the sticking up for Schenn when his skull was bongo'd into the ice?
Just awful.

A little sick of the waiting out the goalie as one of our players skates the puck passed the opposing goalie's red line on the rush and then passing the puck through the crease once the goalie is out of position but nobody is home move.

A lot of bad bounces tonight... That being said, you go 0/7 on the PP you don't deserve to win. Especially against the Oilers. I'm still a little shocked Hexy didn't cash in on guys at the deadline. I hope we learn one day what he was offered for guys like Streit, Gagner, Raffl and Medvedev (if anything). As good as the Flyers were playing I think we can all admit they aren't a playoff team...and certainly not a Stanley Cup contender. I was hoping for a couple more picks at the deadline and to tell you the truth a pick in the top ten. This team needs some top six forwards bad and getting a top ten pick would be good for this organization long term...just my thoughts!

Ghostisbehere shoved Hall and got shoved back, Simmonds didn't really have much reason to hate that and got outmuscled by Maroon who's about 45 lbs heavier. Schenn moment was scary, but he looked alright. Could've been a lot worse, like Parros.

Someone in the game preview thread made a comment about Ghost keeping the flyers in the playoff hunt while McDavid was keeping the Oilers in the Matthews hunt. I'd sure like to know how that's working out for him.

Awww, I feel bad for you. You need to troll just to make yourself feel better about yet another poor season. I'm an Oilers and a Flyers fan and I wish you all the best. Your team won the game, well done. Now stop trolling and go give someone a hug, it will make you feel better.

With wins by PIT and BOS that might have just been the nail in the coffin. I don't blame Hexy for not selling, he probably wouldn't have got much anyways. Yeah, they have some key injuries and players playing through injury. It was a long shot to make it anyways. But he decided to support his players instead of get some mid and lower range picks. Not upset about that, supporting your players seems like it could payoff in the long run too.

@Slipperypickle

Totally agree that ALL Streit,Medvedev,Raffl and Gagner did have a VERY BAD night
but linking it to trade deadline doesnt make any sense
Also draft picks and prospect will not help you now.
AND if you cant execute at in 4 PP some even MAJOR you cannot blame the above mentioned players alone

I thought the entire blue line struggled a bit and the team, in general, seemed to handle the puck poorly. As the 2nd wore on and the team wasn't getting breaks, you could sense them start to grip their sticks a bit tighter.

As Jsaq said earlier, every team has games like last nights. The problem wasn't last evenings game, rather it's being in the position where you basically need to win every night to stay in the race and you need to do it while missing key players and carrying too many borderline/depth players.

They have created a situation where they can't have any let downs and it doesn't help with the Penguins win.

Medvedev was bad in my opinion. I would almost rather see Alt up as he is a better skater then Manning and can also play a two way game. Not as offensive as Medvedev.
