Peter Tessier: After Lacklustre Loss Is Problem Bigger than we Thought? It was a brutal first 2 periods for the Jets and then a small rising in the third but the Jets showed another game that troubles the head coach.

Hey Pete, I know you aren't the biggest Stuart fan out there but I think yesterday's showing was indicative of why you need these heart and soul type players on the team.

Good article but I don't hit the 100% mark in agreement LOL.

Ladd does have to go.... he is all hat no cattle. I don't hold that against him Atlanta had nothing and he was Captain material by default. He was 7th-9th forward in both of his Stanley Cup wins and quite frankly may not even be Captain material, who knows? But how many coaches do you want to go through?

Wheeler Captain by the end of the month, Buff gets and "A" and then you look at the youth and find your other Assistant Captain.

Little and Enstrom for me are keepers. Little has a great contract and does not appear to be a problem on any level, while Enstrom does have a poor contract, he is our best LHD and no one is ready to take that role this year, or maybe even next! Frankly speaking I think this has been one of Enstrom's best years...and I have been hard on him in the past.

As we sit today, I think Lemieux and at least one other prospect makes the team next year. Also today the WPG JETS have the #1 scorer in all of NCAA Hockey and he is a freshman. He is ahead of Eichel's point/game pace and looks the part.

Trade Ladd today, get a LHD prospect from Anaheim for him and its a done deal.
Then wait for the lottery and see of Trouba is of interest to whomever picks 1st or 2nd?

I'm not opposed to keeping little and enstrom but its always wise to gauge interest. Also on top of Conner and Lemieux, Petan is coming on lately and will probably be the team leader (Moose) in points by the end of the year while playing less games. We also have to figure if the Jets end up drafting in the top 4, it will be a forward who may be ready to step right in. If we end up out of the top 4, I predict we take a D

Agree with seeing what the value is. The top D prospects are LHD which after Morrissey we need to get some in the system. ANH literally has 5 or 6 LHD that would be welcomed here tomorrow.

I'm ok with Petan getting a good shot but not on the 4th line again??? That was not fair to him at all, at least give him PP time, let players do what they are good at?

Armia for instance 2 weeks ago started to really look good on the 2nd line and still playing well, I think, but players have to be put in a place where they can acheive.

three Ladd trade proposals I hope we get, in order
1. Montour or Larson plus a first from Ducks
2. Honka or Lindell plus a first from Dallas
3. Pokka plus a first from Chicago
4. Matheson plus a first from Panthers

wild card, Ladd plus Raslovik for Drouin

The Canes have done this consistently to teams throughout the year. They force you to dump the puck in and get in on their defense QUICKLY if you want to have any success because they're so good at pressuring and turning the puck over on their half of the neutral zone.

Winnipeg started attacking them with a lot of speed in the third and there was a clear difference. I don't think the Jets are as bad as they look, but the "Work Harder" line is one coaches have to use because they can't exactly say that they don't have good enough/smart enough players.

The penalties in the offensive zone are completely ridiculous, too. Can't believe how undisciplined the Jets are sometimes.

I agree with you on Petan and I'll take it a step further and say he has to play center. I think if we are really going to become a good team it will be with Lowry as our fourth line center. I realize Copp is still very young and green but I haven't seen a lot of promise in his game. Also, Burmi can be traded in a larger deal this summer.

I would like to aim higher on Anaheim.... Shea Theadore or Hampus Lindholm.

The Ducks have so much depth on that side Jets should push!

Under no circumstances can this team be thinking of trading Little (well, maybe if we happen to land Austin Matthews).
Schiefele is so far removed from being a # 1 center.

I think one of those guys gets them into a RNH deal that makes more sense for both teams. I obviously wouldn't objetc if your right though.

Yeah, think we have to give some credit to the 'Canes for the game they played last night. They have a smothering style of play.

That said, it goes back to Peter's point. It seems that 'Canes have all bought into their coach's game... and the players play hard in that system. How come that's not happening with the Jets?

The leaders on your team should be setting the example... injured or not, Ladd hasn't been setting the best example. #TimeToGoLaddy

I'm not trolling, serious question. What happened since last year? The Jets were one of the hardest teams for the Blackhawks to play against last season. No one here wanted to catch them in the 1st round of the playoffs. Young, strong, physical, like a mini-version of the Kings or Ducks. I saw them hand the Hawks and ass whipping in person, at the United Center.

Injuries? Salary negotiations with Buff and Ladd? Coach lost the team?

It seems the Jets have gone from the cusp of excellence to a cellar dweller. What's up?

I disagree and would say no thanks to eberle for Trouba. There is no reason to think Trouba isn't worth the same as what Seth Jones netted.

It's a combination of many things;
-like Calgary we probably over performed last year
-our special teams were better
-our goaltending was better
-our Captain was better
-we didn't re-sign some late season aquisitions ( Stempniak, Tulusty ) also let our 4th line center and best penalty killer go ( slater ) and went younger which in my mind we had to as we really are not that close to winning it all yet.

I think the Jets are close and I for one am not that worried, still believe in Chevy and the stable of propects we have coming up

It makes little sense when you say it out loud but I really think the Jets are "closer" now than last year when they did play well at the end of the year.

If Ladd brings back what I hope someone is willing to pay, then I am confident the Jets are a playoff team.

Chevy and his staff have stocked the prospect cupboard and we are now seeing them appear in the line up.

Not being a troll but I have to ask exactly what do you think the Jets are going to get for him(Ladd) as a rental ?? With the Cap being flat or even going down up to 4 mil next year the rental market is really going to hurt.
Legitimately what are guys thinking he brings ??

I think (and hope) that the return is a prospect and a 1st rounder. He may not be worth that on a normal day but we only need one desperate GM to over pay in a bidding war at the TDL.

In hindsight:
Copp and Burmistrov were not an upgrade over Slater and Stempniak.
Copp should have spent season with Moose, and I wish I knew what to do about Burmi.
