Yea I've got mixed feelings about this part of the season. Feels like the Oilers are better than previous seasons, but visually they're still last and will be most likely playing the lottery soon. Having a top 3 pick is nice a trading piece I guess.

The Leaf center is out with a “Lower Body Injury” *wink wink*. He presumably pulled his groin while making a throat slash gesture the other day. It happens all the time.

He should have let loose of his Richard before whipping his arm up.

Allow me to say that despite his offense, Marincin is capable of performing well in the NHL by other metrics. His possession numbers have always been strong, even on a terrible Oiler team before he found his way onto a terrible Leaf team. That’s not to say his offense should be overlooked, but he is still doing things well out there.

Those metrics are wrong. He has been worse than Paul (frank)ing Ranger.

Of course Schultz is back

He was abysmal in The islanders game and got sat because of it. (Zither e ire team was horrible too)
It's clear now that it wasn't because of a trade, or they liked waiver wire guy, but just sending a message

And as bad as he might be, McClellan knows he's one of our 6 best defenders, and one of the few guys that can move the puck.

He was never gonna be benched long term in favour of reinhart or clendening.

"The team played better in the last game" than it did the following weekend, yes. But everybody played abit better. It wasn't just about sans Schultz. couldn't then the same be said that the team played great in the 2 games before the weekend with Schultz ??

This never ending refusal to see the big picture and the continual blame game on one guy or whoever is the scapegoat of the day for the masses is, is pretty tired matt

Of course they all played better. I'm still not convinced Schultz is clearly one of their best 6 defensemen. He's really struggling out there.

fair

I've defended him in the past abit, but no doubt he was horrific against the isles. Just terrible. One if the few times, I don't think the Schultz hate was overstated.
Still thought reinhart was worse

It's not about that I think Schultz is great or even the right guy for us, I just can't agree that reinhart, clendening or even mark fayne (under certain circumstances) are better options

If you have a problem with the metrics then take it up with James Tanner.
