Could the Hawks pick Hartnell up for Bickell and their first round pick and then flip him before the draft for a 2nd and 3rd? |

actually not bad. the low money in the last 2 years of the deal would be a selling point to AZ.
i think it depends on:
1) whether they plan on bringing boedker/doan back. won't be any money for hartnell if they do.
2) i think the yotes are in for a rough february, based on a tough schedule. playoffs may be a real stretch by the end of the month. but maybe still an off-season deal to be made.

But why would Hartsy want to waive his NMC to go to an equally or worse team that COL? Especially, as you mentioned, with his age being 34. Can only see him wanting to go to a contender or at least a playoff team. Chances for a cup are running out |

AZ is good place to ride out the last years of your contract. |

If im a player with a NTC, its not worth it for me to uproot my family just because the team made a mistake and are now trying to tear it down.
The only places I go are the states where the move makes me more money (Florida), especially since moving COSTS their families more money |

Wait, did I see you compare Hartsy to Jagr? I love Hartsy, but he's no Jagr. |

Hartnell would probably waive his NMC just to get away from John Tortorella.
Dubinsky probably would try to sneak out with him! |

Serious anger issues there sir, maybe you need to let go of the fact he used to coach the Rangers and regularly beat the Devils?
I hope they do not trade Hartnell but if it can make the team better go ahead and do it.

You go Coga!
They will move Hartnell for the #1 center who was already moved out for being in crazy coaches doghouse |

I love Hartnell and what he's brought to Columbus, but the timing is right to move him. Have to remember that this organization acquired him for RJ Umberger so whatever return you get is going to be a win as long as you don't ship him away for nothing.
Unfortunately, CBJ needs the cap space for some of the contracts they'll be signing this offseason.
Odd prediction here, but I think he ends up in Detroit. I think Detroit tries to move Jimmy Howard to free up cap space and then acquire Hartnell in a separate move. It just seems like a good fit to me. I expect the return to be a 2nd and a prospect. He's not just a rental so the return will be higher than it might be if he was UFA.
Either way, I think it's a situation where Columbus needs to try and move him to keep pushing the youth movement (again). |

Who needs a goalie though? Every team has a goalie or a prospect they are banking on. |

Honestly? People will laugh. I won't be surprised if Toronto looks at him. Reimer is a UFA this summer and Bernier isn't their guy, I don't think. Babcock has history with Jimmy and the guy is still better than anybody Toronto has. They lose Reimer in UFA and can shop Bernier this summer while having Howard as their guy for a couple years. That frees Detroit up to go after a guy like Hartnell who they could really use.
Obviously, lots of "what if" scenarios there, but not that illogical, I don't think. |

Would love to see him playing next to Getzlaf. Eat some money, Ducks up the prospect and the Ducks would be better with him. Hartnell, Perry, Kesler, Garbutt = most hated team ever?? Ducks have the cap room even with all the RFA's and them taking some back for 3 years. We gave you Karlsson for basically nothing already. Lets do this! |
