Man, just as things were starting to look up for this team. Hopefully they can weather the storm. Two very hot Florida teams on back to back nights, 0 out of 4 points would be a big hit. Go Pens Go!

If this is true, Malkin should have bowed out of the ASG. A full week off plus a game suspension for rest and recoup would have done him good.

At the risk of igniting a firestorm:

The result of the hit was extremely unfortunate, but based on that video it sure didn't look like Jenner had any intention to do that nor was it reckless.

Do players get any compensation for the All Star Game?

I don't think he did anything intentional there either. Just an unfortunate hit. Not sure if it was affecting Malkin or not either because he's been producing a more than a PPG since that hit.

Seriously asking,

Any thoughts on Yannik Weber from the Canucks??

Dreger reporting that he will be placed on waivers.

Don't know much about him. RHD that is decent on the PP. Not sure he is more than a bottom pairing guy. I'd trade Cole for him in a heartbeat.

They can get him for free. Can't see him not being claimed by someone. 1.5M cap hit and a UFA at the end of the year.

I don't want him unless Cole is going back. Pens don't need yet another depth dman.

Realistically they can't claim a D at this point, they already have 7 on the roster and carrying 8 with the current rash of injuries would be complete insanity, unless you're suggest they claim Weber and send Pouliout back to WBS I just can't see how adding a D through any manner other than trade would make any sense.

Exactly. There's a glut of 5/6/7 dmen on this team right now. They need to be thinned out. Hopefully there is someone that can take Cole because $2.1m/yr to be a 7D is becoming a problem.

According to Yohe, Malkin was feeling better but reaggravated the injury in the last few days since returning from the ASG. Basically said he was fine when he went but got dinged up after returning and skipping the game probably wouldn't have changed the outcome.
