they're just so boring to watch. maybe it's an NHL thing and not just the Bruins. but i'm very, very close to not giving a (frank) either way with this team. and that's the worst. almost completely apathetic.

I've said this again and again, this team is bland. They're boring. And they're not very... smart? Like nothing about them makes you go, "Oh, I get what's happening here."

Agree. It's difficult to get on board because they're going no where fast. Painfully mediocre...unless you count blowing 2 goal leads.

Of all the D-men, Krug is the only one where I feel like I know what he's gonna bring game after game. I'm not exactly on the 'trade-Chara' bandwagon, but they need to figure that D out, one way or another.

I think these are the growing pains we knew that was coming this year. Stretches of good and bad hockey. Stretches of inconsistencies in single games. It is hard to stomach, but I think expectations have to be tempered with all the young kids playing.

Just bring up all 3 draftees maybe that will incite some motivation.

that's fine but with all these young kids playing where's the urgency? the youthful energy. i don't expect them to be great. but like i said before they're just boring to the point of not caring at all.

I think the big problem with Chara as he gets older is that he doesn't have a No. 2 to help him.

I think we are being a little greedy. I mean I cried as much as anyone last night about the loss, but I think we are getting much better results than we expected in September. Everyone predicted missing the playoffs. Now we are poised to not only make the playoffs, but are in the mix for home ice (whether it is wanted or not lol)

Chara is old, the team is boring at times, the youth will make mistakes, etc.

But the fact is that we have a top 4 hockey team in the division, and a legitimate chance at the SCF if Washington isn't in our way at some point.

Boring, emotionless, lethargic...all of the above. The team lacks pride and killer instinct. Just going through the motions of the X's and O's implemented by Cloooooooooooooooode. I'm a Julien fan, and believe his strategy leads to wins and success but nearly 10 years on a bench would make anybody a little long in the tooth.

Not advocating a mid season coaching change, especially since they are in the mix, but after this year it might be time to tap into a new approach going forward, especially with a lot of young players in the organization poised to make the jump to the pro level.

I haven't watched many Bruins games this year, but the dropoff in Chara is startling. He loses so many battles on the wall that he never used to lose. His mobility has been an issue for a few years now, but you always knew he would take care of the boards in his own zone. But if that drops off...

I would be on board as long as it wasnt for some nonsensical rehash like Ron Wilson or Mike Millbury.

Again, I think it really comes back down to who he's playing with. It's been a revolving door. You see positive strides from guys like Trotman, and then it evaporates a few games later. As for Chara's 'dropoff', I agree about a lot of the wall battles and things of that nature (you see a teams dump it into his end a lot more than they used to). But I don't know, I still think it's a bit exaggerated by some in a way, but that's because he was so dominant for so damn long. He's gone from a generational defenseman to a pretty good defenseman. He might not be the top shutdown guy in the league anymore, but I still think he's in the Top 10.

You just need to find a better supporting cast member to put to his right.

Yeah his advanced stats are still very good. I agree he needs a good #2 with him. I think this forward group is decent enough (and has enough depth in providence) that it's worth overspending to get a #2 D-man. Easier said than done, I know.

Yeah, as a Leaf fan I know how a big minute guy can get hurt by who he's playing with. Dion had to deal with it for a few years himself (not Chara's class, I know) and it's only really changed for him when they put him with someone who's competent with the puck.
