Good interview. I've watched a few Gulls games this season and it's been a lot of fun. Now I just need to get down to San Diego at some point.

Great interview Ed! Nice to hear about some of the other Gulls on the team. My family is going to be in San Diego in February and a Gulls game is on the to-do list. We are really looking forward to finally seeing the kids play.

Outstanding blog! I've been to about 10 Gulls games this season. The building is old. But it's a comfortable old barn. Last Friday there were over 11,000 in the building. I wouldn't plan on just making the 7:00 start time. Get there a little early. They have a boatload of $2 beer nights. Tickets are on AXS or StubHub and are relatively easy to come by if you don't wait until the last minute. You may get shut out if you wait, since they put up a curtain over the unsold area.

You can make a great weekend out of those Friday-Saturday home doubleheaders. Hang out in San Diego during the day. Go to the games at night. Then hit the Gaslamp Quarter after the game. The hockey won't disappoint. And the AHL game still includes fighting. The Gulls have Stu Bickel, Shane O'Brien, Tim Jackman, and Brian McGrattan on the roster too. It's a really good experience for hockey fans. Especially if your team's minor league affiliate is playing and you can see the young talent.

awesome! I love hearing about other teams' AHL and prospect situations...things I might not even have known existed living in the East.

Question, how has Bieksa performed this season? I honestly don't know but curious.

He started out terrible but has been better of late. I'm hoping that when the defense is healthy, he's used more on the third pairing, I think he can work really well there.

Cool!

I like the Ducks a lot and was hoping they'd get to another cup final this year. I wonder if it's better to just play out the season and not do anything "big" at the deadline and see where you end up.

Man I wish there were more high end scoring forwards in the system.. but that is what you get when the GM drafts D and D and more D - hopefully some of that can be dealt for a scoring forward sometime this yr -

$2 beer, fights, & future Ducks. A trifecta of fun.

I plan to, just not easy when I live closer to San Jose than LA. I did go to one game in SJ and had lots of fun.

Where does Nick Ritchie fit into the ducks lineup when he expects to make the team full time next year? Serious question

He played a lot with Kesler and Silfverberg during his callup, so I wouldn't be surprised if he fits there. He could also fill in next to Getzlaf and Perry, or if the Ducks still have them apart next season, than he could fit on either of those 2 lines. Basically, he's a big kid with a scoring touch and will probably work next to any of Kesler, Getzlaf, and/or Perry.

Agree, when his time comes he'll be seeing a role in the top 6 somewhere.
