He will definately add some needed size and nasty to the line up....Skates pretty good for such a big guy and has some decent hands. Just needs some more seasoning.

Very nice win today. Good to see our Lehigh Valley line get on the board with MacDonald getting a goal.

Rangers suffering a tough loss today. One would assume they are going to come out guns blazing. Hope the Flyers do the same.

I know they had to send A.Mcdonald down even at $950,000 cap hit as they didn't have room for $5 million, just hope now that Hextall has seen Ghost we can either trade a D to make room for Ghost or waive Medvedev $3 million, 950,000 cap .He was okay tonight but way too soft , bad signing . move on and keep Ghost up , ideally trade Streit same player as Ghost . Really like other McDonald , nice goal some grit and way more physical than Leir, I'd waive Umburger even if it's only for $950,000 cap and keep MccDonald up, last how is VDV playing with Vorachek , he's a fourth liner playing top minutes don't get it?????

Medvedev played a really strong game, hopefully the coaching staff recognizes that and in conjunction with how poorly Schultz and Gudas played, decides to keep the more skilled import in the lineup.

Nothing better than seeing Nick Schultz laid out in the crease impeding his goalie while the tying goal is scored with 20 seconds left in the third

The tragedy is that if Schultz isn't out there, who is? I couldn't even get mad because your next guy is Luke Schenn, who -- despite being a consistent player this year -- can puck watch and turn a puck over with the best of them

Schultz was not good on that play, absolutely. The real issue is that there is no one else

Only thing I saw was when Medvedev and Ghost got mixed up alongside the net and things got a little shaky. Of course, maybe it isn't the best idea pairing a rookie with a guy who doesn't speak English very well, especially when he's likely rusty from all the sitting he's been doing. Still, Med looks solid, a much-needed puck mover, and he should only get better as he gets used to his teammates and gets his legs/timing back.

While true that it's tallest midget strategy round these parts, Luke Schenn is carrying Nick Schultz as a pair. I actually would rather have Luke Schenn.

His zone exits are fantastic. He doesn't make the first pass available that will just get turned over or the dump out clear that just keeps them hemmed in. He takes his time and makes the best pass. There were a couple times he legit fooled ME with his outlet. And he must've had 3-4 nice one touch through the legs passes to get a controlled exit. Not to mention the goal he assisted on. I mean that equals Manning's point total. Defensively might be a work in progress but he's so good at stopping zone time before it happens (so is Shayne) that it can be covered up. Not to mention with the puck on his stick he might have the best hands of any d man. He seems like a forward at times.

All I know is that an average performance from him is better than half our d corps. Him at his best? We will probably never see it because he will be scratched after 1 goal allowed.

Definite issue. Trouble is, would it be any worse if Del Zotto is out there? Maybe if he's out there, he gains control of the puck, gets a clear and kills 15-20 seconds of potential attack time.

That's kind of my issue, if your shut down guy is fighting it so badly, is it vastly worse to use an offensive defenseman?

Quote don't work, but agree. He's damned good with the puck. He had that one outlet, he was going to get trapped behind the net, read it, and made a great pass into the slot that led to an odd man rush.

It baffles me, that despite Medvedev's issues in transitioning to the NHL, that he's found his way into the Lecavalier suite on such a consistent basis. Hakstol's comment as to why Medvedev was sitting was baffling-basically said he needed to be more consistent.

In and of itself, yeah, consistency is needed, but what of the other 6 inconsistent guys skating now? It's not as if Medvedev was sitting behind Keith, Subban, Doughty, Suter, Weber & McDonagh. That's what bugs me. I'm fine with scratching a dude for poor play, but when one guy is consistently out, and the guys who remain have their sins ignored, what message is sent?

I do wonder if Hakstol is leaning on the assistants to give input and if he's deferring to them a bit as he learns the ropes and gets a better feel.

See, I am the wrong person to ask -- I think MDZ is a good player, who does have flaws, but is so much better than the other guys, I would be playing him as many minutes as he could stand

That is just my eye test. MDZ would be playing Doughty minutes if it was me, maybe more

Ghost is such a bust! Same exact shot as before for another OT winner. Zzzzzzz. One trick pony is all he will ever be. We should trade him now while his stock is high. Other teams will just defend him and make him even more useless. We could probably get more then the third we spent drafting him so it will be a win. A second? I'm looking at you every other team in the league (suckers!). #TradeGhostNow

Edit: Scratch trading him fro draft picks, we need help right now. Trade him for a player like Iginla and win the cup tomorrow, literally, tomorrow. #Patienceequalsfailure #MeDumb

I'm with Jsaq; last minute, protecting a lead, I want MDZ-Schenn on the ice.

At least until they call up Morin.

The fact, that Hakstol was satisfied with Gudas' and Schultz' play during the tying goal sequence, scares me..
