The Oilers would offer up Fayne, Yak & a 5th round choice for Weber. I mean, he's not worth much more than that in their opinion.

Nashville might as well keep him. His contract is pretty good finsncially speaking now that they've gone past the initial crazy 2 years.

Weber is probably the best dman in the NHL, and you are offering Eberle? I mean I love Eberle and hes a great player, but Webs is worth A LOT more than that

If Weber really is on the market, a lot more than Schenn would have to be included in a deal with Philly!

David Poile and Paul Holmgren have teamed up for more than a few deals in the past and Brayden Schenn is a player I have heard the Preds really like. As of this point I dont believe Brayden is truly available and I don't see the fit coming back for Philly...but things can change...

Hey Ek, might wanna go back to the drawing board here... you know... considering Holmgren isn't the GM anymore.....

A) If Nash is EVER thinking about trading weber, josi, or jones they are 100% looking towards getting a center, not eberle, or yak or whatever BS.

B) Jones is the one to be traded if any of them. Josi is a #1 Dman being payed 4 mil till 2020. And don't forget that Webers contract is already over half payed... I doubt a very fiscally responsible team like Nashville is going to let him walk after paying the majority of his extremely front loaded salary. If they ever do hink about it, they also have to think about the recapture penalties if he retires early, and then realize it's a terrible idea. So yeah, luck with that.

Even by Eklund standards this is an incredibly flawed blog post.

Absolutely !
Weber doesn't have a no trade clause as during the Philly offer sheet that the Preds matched you have to remember the Preds were not very good at the time and Weber was very frustrated with the team. He had the money so being traded at that time would have been an upgrade to him. Upon signing with the Preds his agent last minute pulled the no trade clause but the Preds won in that negotiation.

There is always a possibility in him being traded but not likely. If so..it will be a top 6 forward and that is not Schenn nor anyone else mentioned so far....

That would make Couturier the 1C. No thanks.

The Flyers are getting younger. I don't think selling the farm for Weber makes sense for Philly anymore tbh.

1) Holmgren is not GM
2) Nashville ownership nixed a deal with Philly because of the offersheet ordeal
3) Flyers don't have Cap space for Weber

so........

I dont even think it really makes sense for Nashville. All im saying is that if you are trading arguably the best D in the league, its going to be for another piece to build your team around. Giroux is that caliber of player and honestly, i would say that Philly still wins the trade if it were to happen (regardless of whether it makes sense from an organizational standpoint).

Not anywhere close for Nashville to give up Weber. It'll take a lot more than that.

Id imagine that Jones would be moved before Weber ever does.

Also. Love how you gotta get Philly into everything.

Giroux is in your farm system? That trade is fair value just sucks all you have is courtier after him. Isn't Bryden Schenn a C.

By the time we get this ship turned around and seriously contend G will be in his early 30's. Weber is 30 now. I don't think it makes sense.

Coots/Schenn Schenn/Coots. Either way that is a bad 1C
