They should be lucky just to make it to OT. Just focus on the fundamentals.

Seems like 3 on 3 is all about the goalies, seeing as they're often hung out to dry on odd man rushes.

If Buffalo wants to do better in OT, maybe try swinging a trade for a guy like Philly's M. Nuiverth or Stl's B. Elliot?

Would any of you consider adding a guy like Cam ward to this goalie tandem?

I would think that whenever this team is ready to make the playoffs, they're going to want to have a veteran keeper backing up Lehner anyway... Lehner has a history of injuries.

Trade Bagosian, Larsson, and next yr's 1st rd pick to Col, for M. Duchene.

The rumored asking price for Duchene is said to be:

-A "top" D-man (presumably top 2, certainly a top 4),
-A high draft pick (presumably a first rd'er, a high 2nd rd'er at the least),
-And a young player (or prospect).

To be perfectly honest, the Sabres have both the cap space and the nessicary trade assets in spades.

The interesting thing here is that Duchene has shown chemistry playing with O'Reily in the past. I believed O'Rieley had his highest scorign season playing wing to Duchene.

Could they possibly rebuild Buffalo like M. Richards & J. carter did for LA?

Sens are hot for M. Duchene:

Avs would want Zibanejad and Chabot for Duchene. Duchene would bring the tempo and speed. Fit with Bobby Ryan.

Man, Lehner and Nuiverth would be looking sweet right about now.

Nuiverth already has 3 shoutouts for Philly. He's a good sized goalie (which TM likes),I'm surprised we didn't hang onto him on a 1-2 yr deal.

He's had 2 injuries. 2

Why does everyone make it seem like he's had major injuries every year for the last like 5 years or something?

Would you rather have Neuvirth or Eichel? Because if you keep Neuvirth, you don't get Eichel.

You know, I'd really hate to miss out on a top 5 pick (amongst a young, solid, top 4, stay-at-home d-man; who can log big minutes and play physical)...

But "a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush"... Duchene would be an additon on the level of Kane & O'Riley... Heck, that could end up as our top line!

Allow Eichel the luxury to develop at his own pace, sorta like Vanek, Roy, and Pommer did behind Briere, Drury, Dumont, & Max...

Add Duchene and this squad is eerily reminiscent of the '07 squad where we rolled 3 scoring lines on a nightly basis!!

Hmmm... You make a good point there.

I'll keep Eichel.

But you still could have brought Nuiverth back as a UFA. He was a free agent. The trade was a def good move though. Gotta hand it to TM for sure. He got'r done.

Idk, call me crazy but,

Kane/Duchene/O'Reily
Girgensons/Eichel/Reinhart

seems like a top 6, I can grow with...

How about instead of offering Bagosian, we offer Ennis and Pysyk?

When you said next years first, I thought you meant 2017. I would not give up 2016 given that we might miss the playoffs and win the lotter, and especially not with the draft being in Buffalo.

No, they couldn't. He was pissed that he got traded because he was playing well essentially. He said he couldn't believe an organization would make a move like that. He also found out about the trade on TV instead of finding out from the organization first.

He wanted nothing to do with coming back here, even if Murray had wanted him to.

Make it 2016's 2nd rd pick then?

(obviously we'd have to up the "player" compensation)

If they would accept Bogogian, Foligno, and a 2016 2nd. I would make the trade.

But we all know they wouldn't accept that. Nor are we in a position to give up a top 3 blue liner seeing as how we have almost zero depth on the point.

The blind leading the blind.

There is absolutely no evidence to support the argument that if we kept Neuvirth we would not have Eichel. It is pure speculation.

Where to start?

Anders Lindback had a .924 save percentage in the 16 games he played for the Sabres in the end of last season. He played surprisingly well, much to the chagrin of many Sabres fans. Neuvirth had a .921 career save percentage during his tenure with the Sabres. So Lindback actually outperformed what we would realistically expect from Neuvirth. And this is after they traded away Myers, Stafford etal.

Also, there is no way to know if the Sabres would have made other roster moves to ensure the tank if they decided to keep their goalies.

And then for people to say this is a good point!?!? Why do I even waste my time?

How about Ennis, Pysyk, and our 2nd rd pick in 2016?

If TM can essentially upgrade Ennis to Duchene, all while keeping his future top6 in tack), as well as keeping top 2 d-men (Risto & Bagosian)....

He'd clean up, ragardless of the sape parts we'd trade away!!
