Nice play by Ennis on the gamewinner...controlled the puck, Foligno with a great pass as.well.
Maybe that will get Ennis going, I have been very disappointed with his play...like he is playing too fast and loses.control or makes.dumb passes.
Sabres need him for 25+ this season and every season...he needs to slow down a touch and play within himself.

Outside of that goal by higgins i was very impressed by mccabe. I like that they chose not to feed to him to the wolves (tougher competition/high minutes right away), should be good for him long term.

Dupuy is a fascinating story. Un drafted not that dominant in the ohl but has done a solid job with the Amerks so far. I hear Bailey's game is coming along nicely.

late bloomer, like flynn was

it's a good sign when you have guys like that developing in the ahl, so when you need to call them up, they can play a bottom 6 roll

way too many times, the call ups are top 6 guys and get plugged into a 4th line spot at the nhl level

Ruhwedel and Carrier have been playing really well

Ruhwedel needs to be up here instead of Weber

I think i'll give their next game a watch as he's piqued my interest.

At the junior level, Martin and Guhle are showing a lot of promise as well.

Nice article... however, Murray did not "re-sign" Chad Johnson as he had 1 year remaining on his existing contract when the Sabres acquired him at the deadline last year. Other than that, spot on.

I'm seriously hoping the rumors of Cam Fowler to Buffalo are true (at the right price, of course)... adding him and getting Bogosian back would be sweet!

Ennis, unfortunately, seems to be continuing along his path to Max Afinogenov 2.0, which has been disappointing. I was a fan of Max and am still a fan of Ennis' effort and dazzling skills, but he needs to adjust to having more talent alongside him now and remember to be responsible with the puck. Sometimes that means distributing earlier and trusting his linemates to do the right thing. Personally, I have a feeling that Ennis might be a part of a deal for Fowler, if they include a goalie in the deal.

Would they not still have too many? Once Bogosian and Colaiacavo are healthy I think Weber gets waived or moved.

Chad Johnson wasn't re-signed. He already had a year left on his deal.

But good reid, boos

Agreed. With Gorges, Weber, and Franson, the blue line could use more mobility. Bring up Ruhwedel

Ennis historically starts slow. I'd give it some time.

He's the reason we won yesterday

To me it seems we've had a tough schedule so far, but it looks like right now we've had it fairly easy. This site says we've had 24th hardest schedule through week 5.

http://www.playoffstatus.com/nhl/easternsosag.html

Looking at what's to come in November will get that changed in a hurry. I have a feeling this might be a team that does meh against our own division/conference but nails it against the West...either way, taking on Stars, Preds, Blues and the Nucks (most 2x each)will be a great benchmark for this team this month.
