Thanks Bill. Your blogs allow those of us who are unable to catch them for every game to get a feel for what happened.

It's ass ugly the last few years. Sigh.

This one was real, real ugly. If Neuvirth hadn't played out of his mind -- even better than in his two shutouts, as a matter of fact -- this could have been anywhere from 7-2 to 10-2 even figuring that the Oilers would not have had an empty netter late.

Hakstol's hands are really tied. I hope we can deal some vets at the TDL for talent for the future.

I'm starting to worry that Hakstool isn't going to win the Jack Adams.

yea i'm gonna look into getting hockey streams, this team is the same old poop show. It's a real shame, they've had the luxury of two amnesty buyouts and yet still carry an enormous cap while sucking... amazingly stupid. I saw this coming and it's going to stay this way for a very long time. These prospects aren't going to save us if the guys upfront, who can't carry this team now, are too old to do it 5-6 years by the time these kids are ready.

These guys are just clueless. Listening to Ryan White postgame saying that they made some progress last night was just pathetic .

Unless he meant progress towards a top 5 pick.

It could have been 7-0 after the 1st. JFC, an ECHL team wouldn't have done any worse.

I knew coming into this season it was going to be a tough one. The defense can't get the puck, when the do they turn it over. The fowards are already out of the zone before the puck is. What happened to the center swinging back for transisition? Voracek looks aweful. Even his passes are weak. He turned the puck over at the red or blue line many times last night. I think the best options the flyers have is to trade tradeabale players that will help other teams. Streit will help someone. They may have to eat a little salary. Read is tradable as is Schenn. I think Luke Schenn is quietly having a decent season. Maybe even Simmonds. If we do that even eating half the salary of streit we will gain about $17 in cap space.

Almost wish the flyers and devils where better trading partners as we could take on vinny in return for something nice but with the rivalry and what not neither team will be helping each other out lol.

Although not the sole reason for the loss, I think the Brandon Manning as a regular experiment has come to an end. As a #7/call-up, fine. As a regular, I think we've come to the end of that road.

Agreed. If Medvedev is injured, put him on IR and give a Ghost a look

It's really just sad to watch anymore. If the team stinks because of personnel that's fine, but at least play like you give a damn. They seemingly go through the motions for 2 of the 3 periods, if any of them. Their puck retrieval in the offensive zone is pathetic, they run around in the defensive zone like chickens with their heads cut off and they turn the puck over too much in the neutral zone. What the hell has happened to the power play?

Hell, I'd just flat-out waive him at this point. I know he's young and has a chance to improve, etc. but at the present moment, he is in no way ready to hold down a top-6 spot. I'd swap him with Hagg or Ghost right now, at least mix it up.

Edit: Although not a dirty play, his career highlight as an NHL player may be significantly injuring Connor McDavid.
