Excited to see Ullmark in action but I fear this place goes to defcon 2 if he's not great tonight.

It would be nice if teams other than Edmonton and Buffalo were allowed top 2 picks.

it has that potential regardless...people don't seem to realize that this is a young team with a new coach, a new system, lots of new faces, an injury to their #2/3 d-man and an injury to their #1 goalie

Agreed, whole point of this year was to get acclimated with the new players, coaches and system. Usually means things get worse before they get better, but impatience is getting the better of fans.

They had a big off-season but forgot to adjust expectations given the circumstances. For the record, I still like what i see despite the lack of production.

I really really hope so. As much as we suck it just seems hard to be below Edmonton and Buffalo in the standings. Hopefully that will start to change this year

With the tanking job the Leafs did from January on, I really thought they might get a top two pick last year. Oh, well, no stopping the tank this year.

I think they tried. Turns out losing 32 of their last 37 games didn't quite get them to the level of Buffalo and Edmonton. How? I have absolutely no idea. 10 points out of 74. Still, no way close enough.

i'd be happy with solid play and steady improvement for this season no matter where he plays...not directed at you, al, but it's probably best to remember that this is his first time playing in north America...he's got a lot to learn, but if he learns as fast as he recuperates, we could see him have a real impact in the near future

The win streak they had in december screwed the leafs. If they started from day 1 they would've beat out buffalo.

Gotcha, completely understand. He's new over here, came off a pretty serious injury but he played really well in Rochester- 3 games, 2.72 and a .932. Give him an opportunity and we'll see how much he's really progressed. He said he's healthy and ready to go.

Yeah, them too. That's four teams. Maybe add Florida. 5 teams right there, hogging all the picks.

Agreed. Looks like you really have to commit be being the pooptiest you can possibly be from day 1. Not a few months into the season. Hoping this year can be the one (and then 2 more after) top get a top 2 pick for the Leafs. Liking what I'm seeing so far.

Well, there is an old saying that goes, "You can't win a playoff spot in October but you can definitely lose one." I guess the same rule can be applied to tanking. We were actually luck that we had a GM with the foresight to put a crap product on the ice from day one.

Yeah, looks like we're following suit. Hoping for a Bernier and Reimer trade to solidify the pick.
