it makes me laugh how everyone relates what ottawa did last season 100% on luck........clearly it had nothing to do with the team getting healthy in the 2nd half, young guys developing, good players overcoming a slow start to play like everyone expects them too.

but no, hammond and his hot streak were the ONLY reason ottawa won a single game in the 2nd half

All you sens fans think the Bruins can't bounce back, why should we expect you to not regress?

Um, the Capitals can't play the Islanders in the conference final, they are in the same division. I actually agree with a lot of your picks though which surprised me to no end so good job with just that one little inconstancy,

he didn't say regress.......he said last year was all luck.

and let's be honest here............after the offseason boston has, EVERYONE expects them not to bounce back. they lost several good players, didn't replace them with anyone, and they already weren't a playoff team.............

So Belesky, Hayes, Kempainen, Miller and Irwin aren't anyone? Full seasons out of Chara, Krejci, Pastrnak, Spooner and Connolly won't help?

And, yeah, its kinda lucky when 90% of ur roster has a career year, and they BARELY made the playoffs. Why are they such a lock?

the guys who had "career years" were rookies..................and who exactly had a "career year"? not ryan, not macarthur, not karlsson, not cowen, not methot, not anderson, etc, etc

maybe 3 guys had them, hammond (rookie), stone (rookie), and hoffman (rookie).....pretty easy to have a career year when your careers consists of ONE YEAR

Well just to correct your one little inconsistency... Actually he is right, two teams from the same division can play in the conference final. If two wild card teams come from the same division, they are split up in the brackets. Thus you could have a team from the Metro division playing in the Atlantic division bracket, or vice versa.

Just look at the the Winnepeg Jets from last year. The Central division had 5 teams that made the playoffs, and the Pacific division only had 3. Since the Jets had the lowest amount of points, they were moved to the Pacific division for the playoffs since the Ducks had the best record (tied with St. Louis for points, but had more ROWs). If the Jets were to have advanced to the Conference Finals, they would have played another team... from their same division... in the Conference Finals.

Did that just blow your mind?!?!
