Just wanna get some thoughts here. How are the wings gonna fit Larkin, Mantha, Bertuzzi, Jurco, Pulkinen, AA all into the lineup. If we resign Helm and Abby thats a huge logjam. My suggestions:
Resign Abby but not Helm. Helm to me has hit his ceiling. Great third line guys with no hands lol Abby I like because he can play on the third line and still be effective but I almost wouldnt even sign him if I wanted to fit these kids. Next year we have a lot of free agents for a bunch of middle of the road players. Wouldnt it be nice to see
Tatar, Datsyuk, Larkin
Goose, Z, Mantha
Jurco, Sheahan, Pulkinen
Abby,Glen,Bertuzzi
I know thats a lot of kids but I'm just saying. There are a lot that will be up sooner rather than later. Guys like Bert, AA have a bit more time but Jurco and Pulkinen need to play now or be traded. Larkin and Mantha arent far off either. Maybe this year is spent going up and down between rosters but eventually they will need space. Datsyuk is gone after next year so that opens a spot too. But IMO Z, Goose, Tats, Larkin and Mantha make 5 of our top 6 in a couple years. If we resign Helm and Abby thats 2 more. then you have 2 spots on the third line for....AA, Pulkinen, Jurco, AA, Sheahan, Franzen... |
