Bob Duff: Richards-Jurco-Tatar line dominates win over Blackhawks The forward unit of Brad Richards, Tomas Tatar and Tomas Jurco produced three of Detroit's four goals in pre-season win over Chicago.

I prefer Jurco in the top 6 than Helm. Helm seems a better fit as a 3rd line player. Helm just doesn't have the hands to play a scoring role but his speed makes a 3rd line dangerous. Maybe his speed could open up the ice a bit to give Pulk a chance to get that shot off.

Zetterberg Datsyuk Abdelkader
Jurco Richards Tatar
Nyquist Helm Pulkkinen
Franzen Sheahan Glendening/Miller/Ferraro

So, by the same logic a day earlier....
Griffins youth play on par with the star heavy Hawks?

Let me just say that I kind of appreciated the alternating stars-vs-scrubs setup of both of these preseason games. Gives each team's kids a chance to show what they can do against real NHL skill (rather than just the same AHL guys they already play against all the time), and each team's top players a chance to tune up and get into a groove against guys who are good pros but not quite as stiff a challenge as the normal opposition.

It probably wasn't planned out that way specifically, but I think it makes a certain degree of sense.

Usually, using past pre-season rosters (for the most part) -- the home team generally has more regulars going vs their road rosters. So far in these two CHI/DET games, this trend continued.

Pretty much, Hawk D looked like garbage in the third period the other night.

Not to mention they didn't score until there wasn't an NHL level goalie in net. Though Mantha and Pulkkinen's goals were definitely capable of beating Darling or Cro

So why even have a regular season, followed by the playoffs? The Red Wings beat the STANLEY cup champs. Lets just give you guys the cup right now!

The kids are coming out to play again tonight. That shot by Pulkkinen was dirty.
