I like the fire that Gorges plays with. I love that he hates to lose. That's not a bad thing, he just needs to channel it properly. Like he said, everything kind of got to him more than it should last year. With all the changes with the coaching staff and the roster, hopefully the mentality is completely different among the players this year.

I expect Gorges to have a decent rebound season this year.

Josh Gorges sucks. He's a slight upgrade from Mike Weber.

I try my best not to judge anyone from last year.. it's hard to stand out when the 4 players around you are outmatched. I woulnt be surprised to see him step up into a solid second pair d man

He also played hurt most of the year it seems before they finally shut him down and had the issue surgically corrected. I'm not going to pass judgment on him based off of last year alone.

Exactly. Imagine if he went to toronto? He would just be starting what he went through with Buffalo last year.
Good foresight.

Don't get me started about Kaleta, the guy that has no business even being on a PTO with this team.

He had two goals today to make it even worse lol
He could play with his stick upside down and wouldn't improve his game

"[Gorges] made that decision of supposedly sound mind, or so we are informed," wrote Steve Simmons of the Toronto Star. "He selected living in Buffalo and playing for quite possibly the worst team in the NHL over living in Toronto and playing in the so-called centre of the hockey universe.

Some people say we don't need a " goon " on a the roster because all they do is fight well, we don't need Kaleta because people say he's good on the PK. So IMO that's a waste of a roster spot, Kaleta does not need to be on this team, cut the cord already.

I think the PTO is a courtesy for time served with the organization. I would bet no money that he will make the Sabres roster.

Agreed. All these players coming back so-called healthy, will be a big difference. All depends now is their durability going into this season. Some might end up injured again from lack of ice time. We will soon find out.

It's a clean slate for the new and old players on this team, we can't judge them by last year and the year before IMO.

The teams the last 2 years were essentially set up to fail. They brought in some vet pieces they knew they would need moving forward (Moulson, Gionta, Gorges) but that they knew wouldn't have a huge impact on the overall result.

This season is going to have some really high points and probably some really low points. It's the nature of having such a young, inexperienced team. But, it will still be a hell of a lot more entertaining to watch.

In all honesty, I can see this team finishing anywhere from 5th from the bottom in the league right up to securing one of the last playoff spots. It's very much up in the air right now.

Nicely written as usual Michael. I am in the optimists camp regarding Gorges. I think he will have a much better year in 15/16. He is a heck of a shot blocker and played a steady/Eddy game when he was in Montreal.

My biggest concern would be his health. As is evident with McCormick failing his physical, when you get on the other side of 30, your body doesn't respond to the healing process like it used to.
