I'm fine with him on the 2nd pair. Problem is we now have about 4 2nd pairing caliber defensemen, and 1 potential 1st pairing guy.

Talks btwn Oilers and Klefbom camp going well. Could see deal in the 6-7 year range soon. Best guess is just over 4m based on other deals


Probably sets the market for risto. If he has a breakout year this year i could see it going to around what Myers got.

I am a little concerned that we dont have a great 1st pairing on defense but if I recall correctly a lot of pretty talented defensemen will be ufa's at the end of this year. Hope we are able to snag one.

If I knew how to go back and look at last year's posts I bet I could find dozens that express the same idea: we have to throw away any conceptions formulated in the last two years. New and different team objectives; new and different team mates; new and different coach (who actually has a system!).

It's a brave new world.

If I knew how to go back and look at last year's posts I bet I could find dozens that express the same idea: we have to throw away any conceptions formulated in the last two years. i'll be more concerned the following season as I think there will be playoff bubble expectations

Bogosian is the x factor on defense. Key for him is staying healthy which has been a challenge for him. If bogo misses alot of time this year I think we are in trouble. Another reason why the Franson signing makes sense. Added insurance.

....any idea why coaches actually do this? I mean, I get the theory....2 guys playing well could help 2 struggling players. but its a pretty dumb theory.
