Wow, thought I'd have to wait until tomorrow to hear the Tanner rant about this trade.
When the trade popped up on Twitter I laughed out loud thinking what your reaction would be although, unfortunately, this blog was rather tame. You should have slept on it and blogged about it in the morning. Not only is this a bad trade it's also pointless. Gormley looked promising last year, why dump him? Glad I'm not a Yotes fan.

Can't wait have to work in morning, no chance to rip Maloney until tomorrow night and that is unacceptable to me. What did you want exactly? More rage? Less coherent thoughts? Maybe just a single tear?
This made me feel better, maybe it will spice you up to.
The trade will probably be meaningless as it is two unheralded players. I just find it amusing how you have these preconceived notions about player value without any supportable evidence.
Nothing shocking here. Maloney is and always has been one of the biggest bozos in the NHL. The guy arguably set back our franchise more than the legendary Mike Milbury. He dismantled one of the best teams Long Island has seen in thirty years for no apparent reason. Traded one of our best players since the teams inception for a disgruntled cry baby. He's lucky he flys under the radar in Arizona if he were GM of a more prominent team he would have been on the unemployment line a long time ago.
Is it that Gormley hasn't been given a chance, or hasn't done, or shown enough to earn it yet?
What makes his trade perplexing is that the Yotes aren't going anywhere for a few more years, whats the harm in giving him another year, or 2?
I do feel for Yotes fans, but you have to realize who your team is being run by. Maloney has always been a tool and a horrible GM. On top of that, he has always thought Regier is the cream of the crop. They are both horrendous and the Yotes will not improve until not one, but both of them, are gone. How Regier kept his job in Buffalo for 16 years has got to be one of the greatest mysteries in the world. I wouldn't trust that dingleberry to be a third key holder at a Wendy's, let alone running my NHL team. Unfortunately with those two at the helm, you guys are in for more of the same.
That's a violation of Hockey Buzz posting assumption #2: Every single prospect on your team will realize their ceiling potential 100% of the time. - jfkst1
