Something is missing. Galchenyuk shows flashes of brilliance, he has great ice presence and can dominate a shift. But, then he disappears for the rest of the game. I think it does have something to do with coaching and how he is deployed. He plays primarily on the wing. Montreal is very weak down the middle. Fans and media love Galchenyuk at the center position but Therrien refuses to play him in the middle on a regular basis.
Fans have started to go a bit negative on the situation, primarily against Therrien.

There could be any number of players that could win that trophy. McDavid is a great great prospect. But a lot of rookies could have a better rookie season than him, it's just one year, anyone can have a better year than him for just one season. A lot of people picked Drouin to win last year but he didn't. There is nothing close to a lock about a trophy at the end of a season that hasn't happened yet. I would say he is a favorite. He's not guaranteed to win it like some are implying here.
By the way, I'm a big McDavid fan. |

I really only watched a handful of Habs games, and a bunch of their playoff games, but I really liked Galchenyuk from what I saw. I'd take him on the Leafs anyday. I still like that pick by Montreal. |

The consensus pick for the Bruins seems to be Pastrnak, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Spooner be the breakout player this season. He is going to anchor that 3rd line and most likely play with Pastrnak and Eriksson. That line is going to cause a lot of problems for bottom pairings and weaker lines. |
