Realistically the Sabres have only been really bad for a couple of years but people talk about them in the same light as they do the Oilers, which is a poor comparison if you ask me. I like what they're doing in the Buff.

Mine were renewed for this year. Last payment is getting made this week. Could be the last year I do them though. Getting too pricey compared to what it was a few years ago and it's getting harder and harder for me to make it to the amount of games I get each year.

I think the primary issue is that the drop off from the 05-07 seasons was drastic. It was a consistent race to mediocrity at best and then the full tank mode that encompassed the last two and a half season.

The increase this year was BS IMO, based on the last 2 years i think they should of kept season ticket prices the same, no one wanted to go to the games and you couldnt give away tickets! But here is to the FUTURE!!!!

Not sure if this has been mentioned but I saw a prediction blog today. Perhaps the author hasn't seen the transaction wires since last January.

Not sure why so many fans are sensitive to us being predicted to finish last in the division. Question's in goal and the left side of the defence group is like an anchor. The right injury could easily put them back in the bottom 3.

And the have the Avs in last place in the central and Dallas winning the division, take the predictions with a grain of salt. I am not sold on dallas being a powerhouse in arguably the toughest division in hockey

Canes were picked to finish 30th by just about everyone in 2005-06. These guys are wrong. A lot.

Colorado being last in that division is way worse than having us last in the Atlantic, we have a chance to be last still its not that far fetched. Colorado has no chance at finishing last.

Oh wow that's bad

He's a leafs fan so it might just be that but i could see them finishing anywhere from 5-8 in the division. Hard to know exactly what to expect from a lot of new faces.

It isn't a matter of being "sensitivie". If nothing else the Leafs are worse than us and it isn't close (and they will probably get even worse as they start to move more vets). I still think we finish within 5 points of a playoff spot.

How's that? You could make the case that their coaching, goaltending and defence is still better than ours.

They can be last if they throw up another stinker campaign with half their young roster to playing up to their potential. I cant see Duchene, MacKinnon having back to back slump seasons.

Might not make the playoffs but they will be fighting for a wild card spot in april is my guess. I dont see Stars and Wild as locks as most predictions have them.

We don't even know if we have a starting goaltender, and with 40% turnover, how is it not even close? I agree that they could be better than us. We have no idea how everyone is going to mesh together, how well our defense will play and we have a GIANT ???? in net.

The Stars top 6 is incredible don't get me wrong but i agree with you and think the may be over hyped as a whole. Lindy is still their coach.

(shrug) so what? I would say that every player on our top 6 is better than any player in their top 6 (except for JVR). I might even be able to go a line deeper. Also, people are getting all tripped up over us being 1 d short (that in itself tells us that we are in pretty good shape). Our D is absolutely better than their D. But the difference in forwards is going to be striking.

When I was just a little kid - and this goes back into the late 1960's - I really, really, really wanted a pet dog. I couldn't have one though, because my older sister and younger brother both had really bad allergies, and sometimes you give stuff up so that the rest of the family can be happy.

Without intending to touch on any of this thread's running gags, the puppy I really wanted was a German Shepherd. I was going to call him Bismark. I didn't really care what the breed was, though, it could have been anything, even a stupid Cocker Spaniel.

If you look carefully for a little while, you might be able to make out the face of a cocker spaniel in this cloud.

Sometimes, that's kind of a nice way to spend the time, just looking up at fluffy clouds.

Have you looked at their roster? Also, what does our turnover have to do with anything? The talent on our roster is significantly better than their roster. They are going into rebuild mode and just subtracted their best player. We just gained several significant talents (and rid ourselves of an awful coach).

Its a good Top 6, but Patrick Sharp isnt a game breaker anymore, hes a complimentary player. I think there are comparable Top 6s around the league that are filled with equally good young players, solid complimentary vets, and then top end talent with question marks.

For Example

Avs: Duchene, MacKinnon, Landeskog, Soderberg, Iginla, Tanguay
Stars: Seguin, Benn, Sharp, Spezza, Nichushkin, Hemsky?

Not sure how thats miles better according to the Love that writers are giving the stars in their predictions. I think there are teams that have that same set up as the stars and get ingnored, but they are the flavour pick and the lazy writer selection
