Martel is very intriguing. Still find it odd that the size issue scares off so many teams. Really good fortune for the Flyers that nobody decided to use as much as a late round pick on a skilled, but undersized player.

He's just upset that our blog isn't full of HERO charts and daily Sutter/Scuderi bashings.

I figured that it took him longer this morning to find his genitalia with the tweezers when he had to pee.

You know, that reminds me of a good story about me dealing with a chigger down in man land.

I throw a wish into the air that Martel turns into a Flyers version of Tyler Johnson.

The Count was a great Dman and absolutely huge for his era. It's too bad they didn't have the no touch icing rule then, he could have had many more seasons in orange and black. Dailey was solid defensively, a good passer, had decent wheels for a big guy and a huge shot. He is, without a doubt, on my top 10 list of all time Flyers dmen.

And, before you ask, I already posted that top 10 list last summer!

You, Bill, and all of the other "experienced" posters of this site:

If the Flyers had a healthy Dailey, do you think the 85 or 87 Finals turn out differently?

Hard to say, really. He would have been 32 or 33 in 1985, so he may well have been a factor for those series vs Edmonton had he been healthy.

However, his health/retirement was also a big factor in the Flyers decision to trade for Mark Howe

It may have. For one thing, the Flyers would not have had to use Howe and McCrimmon for 30 to 35 minutes a game (no joke) during the playoffs.

The story's good. The experience could best be described as "slightly alarming."

Have YOU ever seen the Flyers, the Buffalo Bills of the NHL, WIN the Stanley Cup ? Not ALMOST, but actually win it ? If so, go take your Geritol, it's almost bedtime.

At least the Flyers have done their damndest to compete throughout franchise and have not tanked -- in two different eras -- with little to no pretense of trying to win hockey games. Nor has their ownership relied on outside funding to keep them afloat.

That's more than can be said for a certain western PA franchise.

Long story short, I had a tingling sensation on the front of man-land. So, I sat down on the toilet, and noticed there was a little black dot. Being as I couldn't tell what it was, I had to break out a magnifying glass. I still couldn't tell, so I had to break out the tweezers to see if I could pull it off. So there I am, sitting on the toilet, pants down, with a magnifying glass and tweezers. I was acting out every manhood joke there is.

You know, if only the NHL had a player like Cris Carter to give speeches to rookies, none of us would know anything about Mike Richards' drug smuggling.

Yeah, but we'd hear about how poor Guy Incognito was busted with 800 lbs of Oxy at the Canadian US border

The Zepp retirement rumors puzzle me. I would have thought he's good enough to get an AHL job somewhere.
