Enough with the ledchuk. Your attempt to make it a "thing" has failed miserably.

"more to come...one thing is for certain I can't remember a year when NHL teams had more unfinished business this late in the summer..."

what unfinished business??? Every team roster is basically set. Except for like 4 ufa's who haven't signed yet, there aren't going to be any roster changes until training camp. Arbitration just finished yesterday. Besides the possibility of trades (which exists every year). What the hell are you talking about?

Yeah, I don't see the Bruins giving up the assets needed to land Byfuglien. Unless the Jets want to take back some salaries like Kelly or Seidenberg.

False, the hawks are nowhere near set. They still need a defense men and they have too many forwards and they need to resign Kruger.

There are also a lot of free agents out there still.

If we are going into the season with rundblad as our 5-6 we screwed. They need to clear out more contracts, find a veteran 5-6 and have enough to resign Kruger.

The Jets are building a powerhouse. Byfuglein is well down on their depth chart yet unique enough to still pull in a very good return. Not sure the Bruins have anything left that would interest the Jets. I could see Buffalo and Edmonton, possibly Detroit as having the need and resources to do something that might excite the Jets.

Let me get this straight:

-Boston doesn't want to give Dougie Hamilton the 5.5 million he's getting from Calgary.

-Boston trades Hamilton to Calgary for assets. People in Boston start smear campaign of Hamilton, claims he's got a bad rep to justify trade.

-Boston courts all possible UFA dmen.

-As a last resort Boston is now offering assets (same ones gotten in Hamilton trade?) for Byfuglien who is older and more expensive than Hamilton who also has a bit of a bad rep.

Why did they just not KEEP HAMILTON!?!?!?

Omg before positing on a forum that has nothing to do with your team you should educate yourself.

Repeatedly it has been posted here and a zillion other sites that Boston did try to sign Hamilton.
3 separate offers. Those offers were as good of a deal if not better then what Hamilton took in Calgary.

THE KID DIDN'T WANT TO RESIGN IN BOSTON!!!

Christ man, read before posting!

Yea....you don't have it straight bub. Have you been living under a rock all summer? Bruins offered almost the same contract he got in Calgary. He didn't want to stay. So yea, I would say going after any and all decent FA d-men would be a good idea for the Bruins. Shouldn't you be a little more informed since you're a hags fan?

No point in arguing this completely logical point.

They have ONE report that he didn't want to sign in Boston from a team, that's unknown, and now in Boston most fans have accepted that as the Bible.

It's called contract negotiating..............

This Hamilton thing is a (frank)ing joke and a bigger joke than the Seguin ordeal. But most Boston fans have gotten soft over the last 15 years........understandable.
-------------

How much do you guys think Byfuglien will get as a free agent.

He is 30 now and likely has only one more BIG contract left. So I would assume he is going for a bigger payday.

5 to 6 years at $6-to-$7 million per?

How are we going to sign him to a contract like that........and he isn't really worth it either.

Thank you. I may be a habs fan and Boston is my worst enemy but Sweeney has single handedly destroyed any meaningful rivalry both our cities had going. I'm seriously pissed if I am a Boston fan.
