What the hell was NY thinking? Give away Hagelin for virtually nothing. |

Guess Sather needs Hags salary to sign someone. Otherwise I don't get it. With MSL gone, there's $$$ saved right there. |

Doesn't look like Stepan will be accepting $4.5/$5mill a year, leading to this salary dump. |

East coast bias. Good deal for NYR. As a fan of SJ and playing against Etem, he is a creative offense player. |

This is a smart trade on both ends the Rangers couldn't afford hagelin and they know it with the money they save they can re-sign stepan and miller, as for Anaheim etem didn't perform up to exceptions last season and they wanted someone who could step up in big situations like the playoffs and hagelin is that. Now its just a matter of re-signing hagelin for a reasonable price. |

As a Ducks fan , Etem has no hands and no moves. Chipping it down the boards and chasing it is not a move. Forget the one anomaly you saw in the playoffs. The dude lacked confidence and skill. Welcome Carl! |

As much as I love Hagelin, youll find out really quick that he... also doesnt have much for hands... and dumping and chasing what Hagelin can do offensively, prob better than anyone in the league. The pay raise that Hagelin will want will be too much for someone that does not score much. However, he will be sorely missed for all the other things he can do with his speed. |

I've watched about half of the Ranger games over the past three seasons. I know Hagelin isn't Mr. Hands. But at least he's a NHL player. Etem is still not at that level, and I wonder if he can get there. Hagelin usually chases other guys' dumps. Etem runs out of racetrack and dumps it to himself, rarely regaining possession. I wish the Rangers luck in helping him find some confidence. I'll take one year of Hagelin. He and Cogliano should have guys crapping their pants on the PK. |
