Great blog. Really hoping this is just speculation and that this isnt something actually being considered in boston.

I know the right side is a question mark for next season. Ill take a question mark over a locker room cancer like Kessel any day.

I would think the cost for the Bruins would be way too high. I am going to assume the Leafs would be looking to acquire pieces for the long term so 1st rd picks, Top notch prospects and quality young nhl players. I am also assuming over the next couple years the Bruins want to inject some new young blood into their team so can they really afford to give away the young future talent they have?

The other thing is the cap hit, which is a tough pill to swallow especially for the Bruins and their own cap situation. As you stated you would have to get rid of a bunch of contracts to fit him in as well as replace the people you trade away. At a cap hit of $8 mil a year do you see him as the core piece of the Bruins going forward?, I don't!

Then you have to ask do you really think he would be a good fit with the Bruins? Personally I don't, especially with Julien still as the Bruins coach.

Yeah I do NOT ever see this happening. Imo, Boston is not interested, and/or would not give up enough to make it worthwhile for Toronto. No way we take a bunch of aging/declining players to give the Bs cap relief. They'd have to include some valuable youth for the Leafs to even consider that.

I think he was referring to the "cancerous Kessel" comment. I believe the comment was intended to refer to him as a cancer in the locker room, etc... but it was taken as a joke about him having cancer.
