remember in the last month of the season when every goal scored by the sabres or a goal allowed by the yotes was a league wide conspiracy and had a large portion of the sabre faithful ready to jump off a bridge??!
this place was manic on game nights

While I would prefer the Sabres to draft a D-man with 21, I wouldn't mind it if they snagged RW Guryanov (sp) there as well.
I still think D is more a position of need for the draft to add to the pipeline coming, and think the draft is where you acquire higher-end talent than a trade, as the cost is too high in FA and through trades for very good D-men.

U guys have a ton of picks, the issue is finding the FA players to bridge the gap.
I enjoy when team are good bc parity in the league makes it the best game to watch...... Must say, im excited to get a chance to see Eichel next year ( if he makes team out of camp )

yup, sure have had a lot of picks...gonna be a bit strange next year if they end up with "only" one pick in each of the first two rounds

Michael - chances are we're taking a RW or a D at #21 (if we keep the pick). Two q's;

1. If we keep 21, who do you like in that area?
2. If gmtm can pull of a trade like 21, 31 and 51 for around #10, who do you like there?

If we stay at 21, my guess is we go Samsonov (goalie)
Unless...
Konecny, Roy or Kylington fall to us
In that case, Murray may wait & try to grab Blackwood at 31

This all changes if he makes a trade for a young Goalie like Gibson or Allen
In that case, it might be #21 that we have to give up

Don't think he's taking samsanov at 21. Two much unknown about Russians and this Russian goalie - his contract has him staying in Russia for 2 more years. I think there's a good chance he falls to 31. With this deep of a draft, teams don't want to spend a 1st round pick on a goalie with a lot of ??'s

Vasilevskiy went 19th overall in 2012, and the KHL was much more of a threat then
Now, the league is weaker & they are about to agree to a transfer deal with the NHL anyways
His 2yr contract is also not a concern
He'll still need time to develop
I'm sure Murray would prefer to take him at 31, but it's a risk
The top goalie has been getting pick late 1st for the last few years now. So he's prob gone by 31

I really really really don't want to give up Zads or Pysyk for a guy like ROR. I realize that they would absolutely have to give up D in that trade. What about Bogosian and 21 for ROR? I like Bogosian but on a good team he is a second pairing defenseman. Also, if memory serves me his possession numbers have been historically mediocre.
